Bought these at REI for $30. They're pretty terrible. I think it's the material of the straps swelling, but after being in the water for a little while, they're super loose. I took these kayaking, and it was less dangerous to take my shoes off when landing than to risk my feet sliding around in these.
Then after they dry, the loose ends of the Velcro straps curl up, suggesting they shrink.

phoenixsongHi there PhoenixSong!
Honestly i've worn regular (non-padded) strap sandals most of my life and if they're adjusted properly and not moving around against your skin you should be just fine.
The sizing chart provided here and on the manufacturer website shows integer numbers (e.g., 8, 9, 10, 11, etc.) but during checkout, Massdrop shows 8/9, 9/10, 10/11 etc. What the heck does that mean? I think whoever setup the checkout made a mistake - the sizing should be integer numbers without slashes.
cheapbutgreatApologies about the confusion, we have confirmed with the vendor that the first number is US Men's Sizing and the second number is US Women's Sizing. It should be fixed now! :) Thanks for the flag.
