Whether you’re out on the town or the trail, these Geigerrig RIG hydration packs are a great solution for staying hydrated and bringing your gear along for the day. At the core of each pack is the Geigerrig Hydration Engine: a water reservoir that’s easy to fill and provides quick access via a silicone bite valve Read More
I ordered the RIG 710 in the last product offering, and it seems like it's well made. There is one thing though that I found troubling. My pack is marked with a black X on the inside, and after a quick examination I found that one of the internal zippers was stitched in backwards, causing the pack to fail a quality control inspection. Because I'm saving money and it's a relatively minor issue I don't ultimately care, but if DROP is sending factory seconds or refurbs and not being transparent about it, it makes me second guess the ethics of this service. Buyer beware.
NWinCTThanks for pointing this out! I received my Geigerrig 710 from this drop today. I just went at looked and wouldn't you know it, there's a black X written in sharpie in the inner pocket. I agree with you, I got a deal on it, but Drop should be 100% transparent about what they are selling! I have no clue what would have caused it to fail QC, but now I'm afraid that one day in the future it will come back to bite me.
vvengefulpandaaFor real. I ordered 6 pairs of socks from their warehouse sale & finally canceled after 3 months when they were selling the socks again at same price on regular drop. Another 2 months later I randomly got a pair of socks. :/
For any Aussies or New Zealand peeps wondering, postage is almost the same price as the packs $35-40.
Must be shipped through the Artic circle on the back of polar bears. My ice axes from Czech republic were only $20 dollars and they are large and hard to pack...
I bought a Geigerrig hydration bag several months ago.
Caused by an air leakage in seamed area as attached pictures during second time use, I reported and raised a claim to replace the defect bag two weeks ago.
But Drop did not solve my claim yet.
Please support me to solve this.
Okay Drop, I'm letting you off easy on this one, and blaming the manufacturer on it. However, don't celebrate by taking even more bong rips than normal because I'll be watching like a hawk, ready to swoop in and call you out for being so baked, the oven couldn't take it and had to spit you out.
So anyway... I love how one option says it's "urban" camo, yet it has jungle camo print. Do they not know what a print of urban camo looks like? I mean really, come on, guys. Everybody knows urban camo is different tones of Grey, with black and white. Not green and brown tones with black. Duh. Like, how you supposed to hide when you on the streets and in the hood? Next time, do your research before you go all Willy-Nilly naming things wrong. Jeesh.
Has anybody gotten their shipping confirmation, yet? We're 4 days past the "by February 27th" date mentioned in the order confirmation and haven't gotten anything, so far.
Agreed, theres a tag on it trying to sell you an additional filter, but no instructions whatsoever. I was looking for the hidden rain cover for a while before i managed to find it (on the 710 theres a hidden zipper on the very bottom of the pack) and was thinking it might have been left out of the shipment!
@Drop What's the deal with the sharpied x's in the 700 packs & the "as-is" stamps on all the water bladders? It doesn't mention anything about "defects" or "refurbishes" in the description of the DROP, but appears that's what's being sold?
Watch out for the quality of the water bladder itself. Had two Geigerrig water bladders; the first showed up and immediately made the water taste like it was out of a garden hose. Even figured maybe it was just unpleasant, but then noticed it made my throat burn and itch. Returned for a replacement that seemed fine at first, but after the 7th use it started doing the exact same thing, leeching and making the water toxic. The concept is cool, but their reservoir materials are awful.
Did the same as @bode2. Specifically for me, flipped it inside out and scrubbed (like the guy in the video says). Then let it sit in baking soda for 24+ hours. Still toxic.
