AristideDThis has been been standard for a while now, DP is becoming priority. I expect it's mainly because G-sync is only compatible with DP. You won't find many, if any, current gen cards with more than 1 HDMI or DVI port.
AristideDB/c DisplayPort is a better interface than HDMI for computers. HDMI is locked at 60Hz Refresh Rate... DisplayPort can support refresh rates 2-3 times that! HDMI is only good for TV hookups to cable boxes, gaming consoles, and so on. Everyone who has a gaming or high-end PC should be using DisplayPort at this point. I mean DisplayPort (DP) has been relevant for the last 5 years or so. Once you get a 144Hz+ monitor which requires DP then you'll realize why the new video cards only have one HDMI port.
AristideDDisplayport is an open standard, HDMI has a licensing fee attached to it.
I really don't know how HDMI became the standard for consoles and tvs and such, when displayport does more and is just overall better.
