twibmassahmm I wonder if there is a better option or not for 17, but if you need it and there isn't another option this seems to be the way to go! just remember if youre like me and use a second monitor and a mouse the hdmi on the right gets a tad annoying.

SaltyMacI do use a mouse of course! But not a second monitor. I have a desktop setup with triple monitors and a tv, my laptop is a standalone away from home solution. My current laptop is 4 years old and cant game very well anymore. But its a 17" and from those 4 years of use I think it might be hard to jump down in size.

twibmassaI 100% agree with you on all of that lmao. but yes without using a second monitor all the time hdmi placement doesn't matter. I'm jealous! I want a triple screen setup, I got 2 lol. I also use mine as most of the time away from home solution! trust me when I say you will be blown away with the 1070, its amazing performance. I too thought the jump from 17 to 15 would suck BUT it sooo much easier to fit in backpacks and carry and to me its worth it.

SaltyMacYeah I have thought about that too(smaller size)....but the form factor on this seems pretty incredible.... especially compared to the msi 1070 offerings.

Edgaryes we are seriously weighing the options of a 15" model with the same specs and smaller form factor for $100 cheaper or this model...Don't understand whats so appalling about that...Salty was just bringing up another option.

twibmassaYes but your original post says "I am seriously confused about this", as if the $100 price difference isn't worth the extra 2" of real estate. You make it sound as though this is a terrible deal when in fact $100 extra for a larger laptop is actually a great deal and there is nothing confusing about it.

SaltyMacBullshit, I've been at this game for as long as you have, you've possibly seen older laptops on SALE at the same price as a newer 15" laptop, possibly from different manufacturers, but a manufacturer would be stupid to have the MSRP for a 15" laptop for the same price as a 17" laptop.

Edgarheres the thing. im a vampire, ive been alive for 420 years, and ive seen every laptop. i seen when jesus used two stones as a pre historic laptop. and even those were the same price back then. the 15 and 17 stone laptops costs 499 boar eyeballs each. you had to kill 250 boars to get a single stone laptop. and then you still had one eyeball left but they usually took that too as form of a boar killing tax because you killed so many. but when you finally got a choice between 15 and 17 stone laptops everyone chose the 15 because stones are heavy man. and you cant fit a 17 stone laptop in your boar skin backpack. so people always got the 15 stone laptop because it was easier to lug around. im just telling you what i know i mean i been alive for 420 years you gotta believe me man. lemme tell you though the new laptops are so much faster than the stone ones. alot more hard drive space too. back then all you got was the stone and what you wrote on it. you feel me.
