So why am i unable to find the G12 Meat Cleaver amongst the purchase options? I have 8 or 9 of these knives, the oldest of which are now 20 years old. Excellent product to date.

I've had these knifes before and some people may be fine with it but i'm just chucking my 2 cents in here. The taper in the metal from the top of the handle to the base of the blade in a majority of knife models creates a weak point and almost if not all of my global knifes snapped in that exact same spot, and they were just being used around the home kitchen, i don't know if they'd last if anyone is considering using them for commercial applications. Not bitching or saying the product is a bad one all round, just sharing my personal experience with them.

I’ve been hunting a 9in for years. Settling for the 7in Santoku. Really great knives.

Lemme give you little help with your marketing methodology, MD. I'm on your site probably 15-20 times a week. Yet, it's always like solving a puzzle trying to divine the price for the "model" or "size" of the products you sell. Just list the specific prices underneath the different model knives you have pictured in this drop for instance. Instead, I have to first "select" a knife and then click on it to see a price. This is true of almost every product you sell, regardless of the numerous choices in size, color, finish. Really time consuming and aggravating for buyers like me.

hsdriverI second this. I like massdrop a lot but that’s just bad design..

hsdriverYeah, I don't like actually having to draw up an order just to get the prices. However, I can see the total including shipping and get too scared to finish the order... I suppose that may be a good thing (if my weary wallet could speak).

The option for the steak knives is incorrect and adds $40 on top of the $69 line item.
skulletThat is correct. Options with at (+$) are in addition to the base price. The same set of 4pc steak knives are on Amazon for $175, they are available here for $110.

I've owned the G2 Chef's Knife for about 10 years, originally got it based on Anthony Bourdain's recommendation from Kitchen Confidential, and because I know I won't take care of a wood handle as well as I should. It's performed very, very well, I've only ever had it professional sharpened once and about 5-6 years ago got a Diamond Sharpening Steel that I use here and there. It's not as sharp as some would like but even with hard veg like carrots it and the butt end of butternut squash it's amazing. Added the GS-37 pairing knife about a year ago and same quality is there. Picked up the G9 knife bread at this drop, as it's really the only other knife I'd ever see myself needing. Maybe steak knives but honestly, these 3 knives are about all I'll ever use.

10" chef's knife is cheaper on amazon (Canadian) Another misleading deal from MD.
devbotGot a link? We have it here for $90 and I am not finding it anywhere else for less than $175..

I can personally attest to the sharpness of these knives, I was working in a kitchen and was cutting a bundle of parsley and lost sight of my finger and sliced the tip of my finger off. Very clean cut, could see bone when the skin flapped back and forth. Barely even hurt, went through my finger like butter.

Hey, don't do that. Accidents happen. I mean you're alive because of the same reason

thisguyneilHa! I did that about 16 years ago... I was showing a dishwasher how to chop something without slicing off your finger. I remember saying, "...and that is why you keep your thumb behind." That was with an old Wusthof.

Misleading. I ordered the knife set with the sharpener. Charged in full. Just sent the sharpner. How convenient. Already returned. So much time wasted.
