I feel the GMT version is useless unless it also have 12hr numerals... too hard to read without them. Other than that, a really nice piece (secretly wish it was a stock Base 22 or bi-color 22...)
SamhagenWhy? Many watches do not have the numerals for the hours, and people could read the time just fine.
I understand it may take getting used to not to refer to the numerals on the dial and inner bezel when looking at the hour hand.
VerwilderdWas it only in the 'Mystery' config? If so, that would be the reason I skipped it. If not, then its a bummer I missed out on it!
I have a real hard time reading the blackout watches...
AbangrReally?!?! Watches without numerals?!?! Who would have thought (sarcasm).
For me (as I prefaced my last post with 'I feel') this face is already very busy with the 24hr markings and numerals. Its not that I can't read a watch without numbers, but on this face for the GMT version, all the markings and numerals are a distraction to reading a 12hr sweep. Lets face it, if you're ordering an airman, you're doing so because its a 24hr face/sweep. IMHO If you have a hard time reading the watch the way it was meant to be (aka: NOT gmt), you should be getting a different watch. I understand it may take time to get used to reading a 24hr dial, but you'll get used to it ;P
SamhagenNo. The had the mystery, a white-faced version and the luminated face version (I forget what the actually call the different models). but they had them in both purist and gmt
SamhagenI'll add on this, that a watch with no markings is different than one with. If you have a watch marked with a 24 sweep but then it doesn't function as such on the main hands, it makes the watch face markings pointless. So I agree with you.
