Stabilizers help distribute the weight of each keypress across the entire key, so you don’t have to hit them in the very center and they will still register. They’re essential for larger keys like the spacebar, enter key, backspace, shift, and more Read More

So massdrop ships a k-type with awful stabs and then sells proper ones in a seperate drop.
IMO everybody who bought a k-type should get one of these for free :-(
It didn't really bother me that much either because I wasn't even familiar with what a stabiliser was. I just replaced the ones in my K-Type, just to see what all the fuss was about. There is a huge difference. Pretty happy I did now. The ones it ships with are pretty crappy, you can tell just holding them when there removed from the board.
dabsterReally, the board just feels like an actual $200 board after a cheap $9 stabilizer upgrade, and that cost would not have been $9 for MassDrop given they bought upwards of 4000 units.
ARCFXXJust noticed the same thing...and here I had gotten all excited. To confirm, NK carries "Cherry Stabilizers from GMK (authentic)." Seems like the drop is pennies cheaper, but I'm not sure if NK charges for shipping.
Is this an acknowledgment of the K-Type issues? Anyway, I bought a set of them for 9 EUR from a GH user and they arrived yesterday after about a week. I installed them in the K-Type and they are great.
c_r_zThis post helped me out as it's tough to find clear/milk housings for the stabilizers. I didn't know it's the stems and bars that control the sound.
Definitely on the top of my list to do to the K-Type.
So these are the best for the K-Type? The squeeks alone from the ktype stabalizers have caused my dogs much mental stress, as if any click of a key could bring the next ear peircing squeak of disappointment.
If you're in Australia and want these now Daily Clack has them. 4x2u and 6.25u for $16 + shipping in AUD.
You can choose between screw-in (with washers) and plate mount. All genuine GMK.
You guys need to people who know are knowledgeable about keyboards to arrange the product to have better pictures taken. The Screw in PCB mount stabilizers aren't screwed in (and plenty of people don't even know how to assemble them), and the photo with the screws is with the plate mount stabilizers. Why so incompetent?

$14 USD for stabs and they're not even gold plated.

Zeal's gold plated stabs cost more than double, and they're marginally better at best. You're expecting too much.

Zeal's gold plated stabs are also priced too high, which was the point of this comment.
If shipping was free I would actually consider this, but since its not you're significantly better off just getting these from NovelKeys.

Similar shipping rate, and you can pick the combination of stabilizers that you want. You're not limited to 4x 2U and 1x 6.25U/7U. You also won't have to wait until December to get them.
