gmorphisInstead of being lazy and posting a question here, why don't try and help yourself by first searching the internet for your answer.
I found it in less than 3 minutes and I suspect that you can too.
google.com is a great place to begin.
Good luck and best wishes.
Fred45Instead of being a rude asshole how about you share the answer? People suck. If you have the answer provide it instead of insulting me. Just an idea.
gmorphisActually, I was being polite. And helpful; I gave you a starting point and wished you luck.
Don't get all pissed off at me, try calling me out because you are lazy.
Again, you are lazy and if you didn't know it, well, now you do.
Fred45Yeah sure I'm lazy, because I went to Gregory's website and sectionhiker to read reviews. Just because the hipbelt says it's 48" doesn't necessarily mean it'll accommodate a 48" waist for example. Maybe the hip belt is measured excluding the back of the backpack. So yeah, if me searching and then asking for opinions of people who actually own one make me lazy, then I'm lazy. But you're a sad and pathetic piece of garbage.. and I'd rather be lazy than a hateful and rude lowlife who has nothing better to do than insult someone online lol.
Fred45Maybe he wants a first hand account from someone in this community who owns the pack. These are new packs so there are very few reviews and finding one that answers this specific question would be pretty difficult. It's a major purchase for some people so it makes sense that buyers would want to know as much as possible. I'm sorry if you couldn't sleep last night or whatever.
gmorphisFrom the rei website:
S: 27-46 inches
M: 28-48 inches
L: 30-53 inches
I'm still a bit nervous about this because having a larger waist and medium torso its hard to say if this will be comfortable For me. uts unfortunate that rei doesn't stock this in store.
WonkwonkSame thing I found Wonkwonk on https://mountainsforeverybody.com/gregory-optic-58-pack-review
I wish you could get the medium torso and large hipbelt. I'm mainly concerned about winter when you need to layer some clothes and that adds even more width. So that's why I was asking people here. Not because I'm lazy :)
WonkwonkI own a baltoro and am an “in between” size. As a result I ended up keeping the pack for my torso size (small) but contacted Gregory to swap the straps and hip belt for medium to get a perfect fit. Don’t know if you can do the same for the optic but you could call in advance to find out. SUPER friendly and helpful customer service folks at Gregory!! Even a hotline just for thru hikers.
gmorphisI have the paragon 58 and I'm super happy with it. the hip belt as well as torso length on that one are adjustable. its a safe bet if you cant try on the pack in advance.
