Got mine about a week ago. Black oak, no warping that others have complained of, stained but apparently the surface is unfinished? I opted to give it a light sanding and ~5 coats of polyurethane finish to give it a more waterproof (and skin-oil-proof) surface.
I might've been okay with $30 for a finished piece, but having to go to the trouble of finishing it myself kinda brings this product into the 'overpriced' category for me. It's a fairly simple product to make for myself, especially since I have a source of nicer cuts of dimensioned lumber. Probably just going to do that next time.
LaogeodrittSometimes I read mass drop reviews to help others. But you sir are a man who does not need help, I'm glad someone else has the sense to treat handled wood properly before use.
