The first style HELM ever released, the Sam Original remains a best seller to this day. Originally called the Ray Ray, it was renamed to honor the founder’s father-in-law: a steadfast, loyal man in his time, with a great deal of determination and perseverance. To live up to the admirable quantities of its namesake, this dress boot is built on a signature US-made last, which gives it its trademark toe box and shape. The upper is made from your choice of black Tasman York leather from Maine or brown Horween Chromexcel leather from Chicago. Both feature a quarter inlay in matching leather or contrasting White Oak Cone Denim, respectively. Great worn casually with pants or jeans, the Sam looks just as good dressed up with a suit.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of color (black or brown) and size (men’s US 7–13). HELM recommends going up half a size if you have wider feet.
HELM was founded in 2009 with a mission: to change what was expected from the traditional boot by incorporating elements from the makers’ favorite shoes and sneakers. The first models were designed in Austin and produced in Istanbul, Turkey, and featured some of the iconic colors and details HELM is known for today. In 2012, the company moved all of its production to the United States, with factories in Arkansas and Maine. Focusing on local craftsmanship, American-influenced lasts, and new patterns and material combinations, the company continues to push the boundaries of today’s footwear.
