Does this have a strong friction hold or is the tang-swivel bit in the user's hand the only thing holding it open?

IMPXANDER@Kkfire Well if you ever get the idea to lube it - DO NOT. I sprayed WD-40 on a folder like this years ago and it became so loose that it was almost unusable. I tried water, vinegar, string, salt, heat, I can't remember what finally did it but it took me months to get it back - and the hold has never gotten much better than 60% of what it was NIB.

KilsimivYou should coat the blade itself with a thin layer of anti corrosion agent that is food safe. Mineral oil is food safe and prevents corrosion okay. There is better options like something called "fluid film" some people can get an allergic reaction to fluid film tho, as it's lanolin based.
