JonnyJDepends on what you mean by 'need.' It's not like it's an impractical weapon somehow, look up some videos. It's small and effective.

JonnyJAgreed. I wouldn't call this "every day carry," but it's where all their knives go, and I'm glad there are a good variety of knife types on massdrop. It does come with this sheath or boot clip, though, so technically you could carry it regularly without too much hassle.

OrochiIt looks cool but unfortunately Knife laws in Seattle dictate no fixed blades. But ya massdrop should have a dedicated knife community.

JonnyJIs there a law that specifically says you can't concealed carry fixed blades? I know the RCW talks about "dangerous weapons", essentially making it risky to concealed carry ANY type of knife (fixed or folder), but I didn't see anything specifically saying "you can't concealed carry a fixed blade". Open carry is a different matter (it's legal)

clarkkentAccording to Seattle Municipal Code section 12A.14.010, “a dangerous knife means any fixed-blade knife and any other knife having a blade more than three and one-half inches (3 1/2″) in length.”
On a side note i think most officers wouldnt even care though :l

JonnyJThanks for the info. It's weird because I can't find any definition of a "dangerous knife" in the RCW anywhere. Which makes it risky to carry anything according to RCW. But Seattle says a 3" fixed blade knife is ok. But could it be possible that's violating the RCW? Hmm. All this law stuff is confusing

JonnyJA fixed blade whose design is 100% meant for killing other people will not be ignored by the DA and judge. A fixed blade meant for wood carving or cutting drywall is going to be much easier to not get in trouble for.

clarkkentIdk in different states but I live in California and we have some of the most strict laws on these things. Here if any blade is fixed or not if it is over 4" in length (police use the palms of their hand for measurement so be careful) it must be exposed at all times or it is considered a concealed deadly weapon. I carry ones larger than this one all the time and never get any grief but I make sure that it is always visible at all times! Also know these knives are no joke one quick stroke can mean 25yrs in prison! They are not like other knives! Because of that curve the tips of these knives are like razors. Like I tell anyone, I would only use this if my life was in imenant danger because any other reason and you will not see day light again. I was jumped by 5 guys and never once pulled mine because of this, these are made to end life not fight. So please be careful about carrying unless you have great self control in hairy situations.
