slandauThe x4 107D FPV (First Person View) version ( http://www.hubsan.com/productinfo_11.html ) has a camera that broadcasts live video. This video can be picked up by the receiver which has a built in display, or more importantly by googles that can tune into 5.8 GHz FatShark frequencies.
So the difference is you can fly the HD by Line of Sight (LOS) only while the FPV one either LOS or you can fly essentially from the cockpit by watching the video. This is why the unit is popular, FPV quad copter flyer like it because they can use their existing google and fly around the house safely on bad weather days.
Also worth saying is the 107D+ (PLUS) version has altitude control mode always on - meaning that it always holds it's altitude and the throttle stick moves it up and down by increments. This is different than what hobbyist use which is complete control over the throttle manually from 0-100. Manual control is more desirable in my opinion. The Plus version also has a few other things in it that to my mind cause the PLUS to be less desirable than the non-plus one (for example the non plus shows the crafts battery power, where the Plus no longer does this).
More information here:

Lastly, I'll add that it's closest competitor in my opinion is the Blade Nano QX FPV which comes in 2 version. The first one is Bind aNd Fly (BNF) and requires the buyer to have googles and a transmitter for about $140 bucks, while the other version is Ready To Fly (RTF) and comes with a transmitter as well as low end FatShark Googles for about $400. It's a great little unit (and the one that got me into flying), but the small single cell batteries constantly go bad and aren't cheap to replace.
