I have a 1990 Mazda Miata (MX-5) - does anyone think it would be possible to place the 3L bottle in the magazine/map holder behind the seat and still use the drinking tube?

Dr.McCoyThe tube likely isn't long enough.

Dr.McCoyI'm pretty sure you can replace the tube part of most hydration bladders with aquarium tubing... Might be worth a shot?

EZ_livingPossibly. Not really sure I want to be sucking liquid through non-food-grade plastic though. I wonder where you can find BPA/PVC free tubing by the foot.

Dr.McCoyAquarium grade tubing is about the same as food grade...fish are pretty sensitive to chemicals. You can buy a few different types of tubing that would be just fine, easy to swap out. I don't have a 3L to measure but the stock length on the 2L hose is about 36", about 24-26 of which would be functional length that extends beyond the top of the reservoir. Too short for what you want, I think, but I don't think any bladder on the market will long enough out of the box. These are great bladders and this is really a killer price on them.

StepbystepAwesome, thanks for the numbers! I'm gonna go measure to see if it'll work. Another option I was considering is mounting a carrier to the headrest (though I'm not sure if that's incredibly wise).

Dr.McCoyAre you making like a Mad Max/Fury Road-esque style Battlecar in which you will be properly fueled/hydrated? Do you like to get Shiny and Chrome, by chance?
