Just got mine in the mail today. Love the idea but plastic pool float smell and taste is real. So far I filled with hot water let sit for a few hours and dumped three times, the fumes are still strong. Current trying the lemon juice freezer thing, if it doesnt work its going in the garbage. Was upset I missed the other hydrapack drop for the bottles, not so much anymore. Not giving up hope yet, like I said I just got it today.

TasselhoffFor each liter of capacity I put 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1/4 cup vinegar, and fill with water. I then shake and let sit for 30min before freezing. Then after freezing, thaw, rinse, and dry.

mmorastThanks. Would have thought that maybe the Lemon Juice and Vinegar may eat-away at the plastic coating but you haven't mentioned anything along those lines, so I will take it that it is all good! I will definitely try this, I have the 3L bladder on it's way as well as this container.
