This keyboard is probably the nicest I've used in a long time. I'm a little concerned about the longevity of the micro usb connector, but I've never had one break on me, so maybe I should just stop worrying.
The case is solid, heavy, and beautifully finished. Even with the lights off, it makes an impression. I got mine with the silent reds, and they're fantastic. Maybe as noisy as a cheap membrane switch, but with a wonderful mechanical feel. It's a joy to type on. Or game on, for that matter.
My only very minor gripe is the documentation. It can be confusing trying to understand how to work the lighting from the documentation alone. I spent some time watching video reviews, and just plain old trial and error to get it somewhat figured out.
When all is said and done, this is keyboard I would happily recommend to my friends.
Hefty and solid, feels great and stays in place. Notes:
- The micro-USB port doesn't appear to fully seat the plug on the cable it ships with, but it works, so don't force it
- The micro-USB port is flimsy, mine came partially loose the first time I plugged it in
- Ships with a simple, rubber-coated cable
- No height/angle adjustment built in, which I usually require, but the natural incline on this design feels fine enough
- Frame rises a tad high around the keys - with a slimmer cherry profile set installed, the top edges of the arrow keys are flush with the frame when pressed
I'd recommend it as long as you don't mind the fragility of the micro-USB port.
I took a closer look with better lighting and you're right. I was also unable to get any wrenches to bite originally - turns out my wrenches are just old and worn, a new set turns them just fine.
I purchased this keyboard with the MX Cherry Blacks and have been using it daily. I love this keyboard, it does not move from the spot I placed it due to it's weight. Every day I use the keyboard I'm reminded of a chance I took that turned out good. I went from a keyboard with MX Cherry Browns to this one and find the keys offer only slightly more resistance to depress than the Browns. Yes, I would buy this keyboard again.
For the price and the wait it should- out of the box act like a normal keyboard and the standard cord 4' ish provided to way too short. I still haven't been able to get it right. I guess I expected more.
Replaced my work keyboard with this one myself because it was easier than trying to talk supervisors around. Subdued-looking enough to blend in, heavy enough not to slide around even on the most indifferently assembled keyboard tray. Met expectations!
This keyboard is HEAVY, which is something that I really love about it. Every clack feels solid, and it has the perfect number of keys for my daily use. If this will come in white or silver, I would definitely buy again.
