MASSDROP:
People on here have no right to say 'buyer beware' or 'Do not buy' as they have not brought from IMR and thus have no idea about the customer service and the 'brand' their sole argument rests on a past company that owes them IEMs and NO ONE knows precisely what the situation is.
This is not a Trinity forum, this is for prospective buyers to know about the IEMs, not about past companies and accusations. I, and others, who HAVE BROUGHT THESE, have had nothing but stellar service and a fantastic IEM to boot. The only crooks here are the people who wish only to discuss other subjects i.e. Trinity.
If anything Massdrop should get involved here as you guys are sabotaging not only IMR but Massdrop.

griff06In all fairness, the complaints are pretty valid. Bob presented himself as the face of the company and as if he was finally getting to make the products he wanted to make. Then things went sour and suddenly the story changed to oh it wasnt my company, I was just contracted by them to make the products they wanted, not the ones I wanted to make. And the whole while, he was the one lying to people about how far along they were and how soon their products would be ready to ship. Then, he used mailing lists from trinity to start advertising his new company to people who had never signed up to receive anything about his new company.
So, while I realize its a new company and they should (probably... maybe) be treated as such, I personally would not trust this guy with my money again, and I think the complaints in here are totally valid.
And I dont really think that one unsuccessful drop is going to seriously harm MD.
griff06All you said is DEFINITELY TRUE! These are a pair of killer iems and they are actually cheating people who would otherwise be LOVING THESE! Awesome comment!

mashutoListen. Ask everone on here or HeadFi their experience with IMR and you will have a unanimous response saying customer service and the product is exemplary. I know all of what you say, ive read the Trinity forum, but for every fact given , a multitude of fabrications were made. Someone says oh this or that and then everyone takes it as gospel. I know there is some funny information which points to certain things but, no one knows if Bob was running it, falling on a sword and defending Trinity, truly being a crook and a liar, or, just set up himself. NO ONE knows the truth of it. Only bits and pieces put together by an angry mob who rightly want their IEMs. This is about this drop however, and its backed by Massdrop, Trinity has nothing to do with it.
griff06I'm going on what Bob himself has told me and from his actions, I believe him!

griff06Yes, there is absolutely a lot of misinformation being thrown around as well as a lot of speculation. But none of what I posted here is misinformation or speculation. I was a supporter of trinity for a long time, and I followed that debacle from the beginning. And what I posted are the actual things that happened, not any speculation or misinformation.
He absolutely was a liar. He was the face of that company over on head fi and repeatedly told people that production was finished (or just about finished) and products would be shipping out soon. He told people that for a year, when it obviously was not true.
The fact that he was the face of that company, to me says that it is absolutely relevant to this drop and its absolutely important that people know who they are buying from, even if he has completely turned his act around.

IdontevenknowdudeHis actions? He lied to everyone for a year about the status of their orders. And then threw trinity under the bus when he left to save face.
mashutoThis is something that comes with all crowd funded projects at one point or another ..... This is totally different! We are talking a stocked and ready to ship product and in THIS CASE, performs awesomely!

mashutoOr the other way round. Maybe we will find out the truth. You may have posted some facts before, but your last comment was speculation. Its easy to take comments past fact into speculation, we all do it, but with a persons business as the topic and at stake, surely we need to be careful what we're saying no? Partial facts and speculation can wrongly crucify someone as we have all seen.
griff06I only say what I've been told. I totally agree with you on that and thank you for helping me stay in check (so to speak). Keep it up!

IdontevenknowdudeAre you the infamous Bob? You were a member on MD for 3 years and had not even a single comment all this time. You are very active in this tread. No product during last 3 years sparked any interest to make a comment? Just curious and unsubstantiated observation.
andypak01I'm a customer like everyone elsewho loves their R1's! I really hated to see people trying to shoot these iems down, which ARE the best I own to date!

griff06"For every fact given, a multitude of fabrications were made" ????? Boy, where you staying must be a very happy place... No one knowing the truth of it is simply an erroneous (statement), there are at least several persons who know the very truth of it. At least. Calling customers cheated and robbed of their money "an angry mob" is simply beyond cynical, it is nothing more nor less than an open, spiteful insult. Trinity and those involved in it have a lot to do with it, as shown abundantly in the history of events, and since the drop is about IMR, then stop defending Trinity here, of all places.

griff06Both are the brainchild of the very same person, so - I am sorry, nice try, try again. Bob himself was posting about Trinity in that very manner from the beginning, at headfi. Nothing anyone else has come up with out of the blue.
Furthermore, quoting another post (from numerous such, both here and at headfi, as an illustration of other interesting aspects of the whole story:

These might be nice IEMs. This company does not deserve your money. It does not deserve the support it has already had. Trinity was run into the ground. Bob was, apparently, going to leave the company and take a long break. All of a sudden, we get a promotional email for a new company, IMR Acoustics. If it's a new company, why are they using Trinity's subscriber list? It's not a new company, though. That was apparent from it having the *exact* same location. Clearly more information has come to light since. What is IMR? Just a rebrand. Likely an attempt to get some money back; who knows if it will ever be enough to make reparations to previous Trinity supporters. But it keeps Bob working, wow, great for him."

griff06That very person never did anything to distance himself from those claims, and has been conceiving the IMR on his desk while working at Trinity, which is his brainchild, according to himself, as stated by himself (in some posts) at headfi. Taking people's emails from the Trinity's customer database and then using it to send offers for the IMR at the upstart , and other things pointing to this cannot be longer called a speculation.
Here is a quote from another member and customer:
