This is pretty disappointing, it's like there is a layer missing, as the standoffs are longer than the baseplate + two layers provided, preventing the screws from being tightened. It's also very far from flush with the keyboard.
Also I don't really get how you could call this "compatible with Grifiti ErgoDox wrist pads", see the third photo for the huge overhang.

njs50I filed down my standoffs to get it to fit tightly, and that worked pretty well. It doesn't need a lot of filing.
I bought this so I didn't have to use my Grafiti wrist pads any more, so it's not a huge deal to me.
I have two Infinity Ergodox keyboard from different drops, with different sandwich thicknesses, I'm not sure what thickness they were shooting for but it doesn't match either of mine.
I think I will also have to file down the sharp edge of the wrist rest a little bit.

njs50jfc I didn't even try my Grifiti pads with this, that overhang is absurd.
I emailed Massdrop support asking if this was "expected" that the end product differs from what was shown with no explanation to those buying it - two holes per side instead of one, stupid extra amount of screws, all of which are too long anyway. They just jumped to "Sorry you received it in that condition, please fill out this RMA form." I don't necessarily want to RMA it, I was just asking if this was how it was really supposed to be.
Likewise I too have the new layer a bit shorter than the rest of the keyboard face. I don't necessarily mind it, it's just odd.
There's just a lot of really dumb design flaws here. The two holes per side instead of 4 - why was this not communicated to anyone? We get 8 sets of screws, the drop says we get 6 sets (why?), we only need 4 sets. Disregarding the aluminum plate for a sec - a 1/8" and 1/4" acrylic plates for each side? Why not a single 5/8" sheet? It'd look a lot nicer, and considering the terrible screw hole placement, it'd also be a lot more durable. I know @OverKill says these standoffs are custom made for this application (the ergodox) - Why could they either a) not get other custom ones that are shorter for these plates, or b) figure out a way to make these plates thicker, making the screws fit properly AND fixing the issue where it's at a lower height than the rest of the board?
I'm not 100% dissatisfied with this, but I feel like multiple parties SERIOUSLY dropped the ball here and it's really put a sour taste in my mouth for this. We were shown one thing and essentially given another (hell, the demo vid from OverKill showed two THICK acrylic plates per side. I know that wasn't final, but, again, where was any of the communication??). It also feels like there was really no testing here (screws don't tighten on the majority of people who have responded) and poor QC (bunch of people already with damaged plates and chipped acrylic). Least impressive Massdrop experience I've had yet.
Finally, for those who have screws that don't tighten down all the way, run to your local hardware store and pick up a pack of #10 nylon washers and put it on the bottom side of the aluminum plate between that and the screw/stud. They're dirt cheap ($0.56 for the pack at Lowes) and take up plenty of slack there. These are what I used: http://www.lowes.com/pd/The-Hillman-Group-4-Count-10-x-3-8-in-Nylon-Standard-SAE-Flat-Washer/3013084

njs50Can you provide a picture of the layers you have on the main section of your ergodox? it kind of looks like maybe you didn't remove the original bottom plate from the ergodox before you installed the metal one but I don't have a clear enough picture of the rest of your infinity ergodox.

OverKillMine is off by apx 1.5 mm as well. That is with the original bottom layer removed. So, this isn't an odd occurrence. I have the first release of the Infinity ErgoDox if it makes any difference. Was the aluminum switch-plate not calculated into the needed thickness to be flush with the rest of the case? That or I saw someone mention 12 & 3 mm. Well that's not what got cut. I have 11 & 3 mm making up my full hand. I wonder how this weird offset is going to look with the aluminum top plate I already ordered. :-/ Too bad they didn't produce full hand aluminum top plates. Though then it would be crucial the parts were flush.
