Wow, this is just absurd. At best, a $15 Chinese movement, a steel case, and a glass crystal. They couldn't even spend the extra $10 on a sapphire crystal that won't scratch or shatter on you? There is simply no way to justify more than $75 for this watch. Unfortunately, there are more and more of these watch "brands" popping up that do nothing more than re-brand a Chinese watch with a European sounding name and a convoluted backstory. When you compare this to what you can get from Seiko, or even the classic Invicta 8926 (and for under $100), there is no reason to even consider "brands" like this.

i don't understand why this drop had to state that it was "made in china". I'm looking at some of the other drops for automatic watches and it doesn't state anything of the sort...

Ian-Thank you for including country of origin information with this and any drop; I like to know where my stuff is made (and fwiw "Made in China" is not an automatic deal breaker for me, but it does play a significant role.) Information is a good thing...

kingpingOrigin of Country , for Parts and Assemby, in the Watch World, Is the Norm. " Swiss Made" (currently, 60 % of It's origin, Must be Swiss; That according to the Swiss Watch Federation)the Most Prized, and a Premium paid, for Swiss Labor as well. That's a Fact.

Very much looks like the cheap offspring of a MeisterSinger Paleograph / Max Bill.

Ingersoll is definitely a "Mushroom brand". Even if you cut the price in half I'm not sure I would be spending that kind of money for a Chinese watch. Seagull yes... but not a company that has a somewhat dubious "history".

Tsar_Bomba+1 Tsar Bomba. The watch probably isn't even that bad but $300 for a fake chrono from a "mushroom" brand is to much when you can get a real Seagup chrono for the same money.

FsatsilThe Movement is Most Probably a Seagull one, as well. Even If the Movement was NOT assembled at the Seagull Factory . It could be using Seagull Parts ???

Tigole Thanks for the reply. You are correct to a point, as seen on Wikipedia:
"The brand Ingersoll is currently owned by Zeon Watches, a British subsidiary of the company Herald Group."
Further Googling will reveal that the parent company, and hence the de facto owner of the Ingersoll brand, is based in China:
http://www.heraldgroup.com.hk/index.htm
Herald Group Ltd has offices based in Hong Kong, with manufacturing in both Hong Kong and Shanghai.
I generally try to avoid Chinese made products for ethical and political reasons fwiw...

Of course, imo it wouldnt make 'sense' to purchase a 300 - 490 dollar watch that was MIC.
