Got a stick stuck up your ass from your last trail run? Pretty sure I saw the trainers offered for both men and women.

I've been looking to pick up a pair of these, but I'm pretty concerned about the sizing. Anyone have an idea of how to guarantee getting the right size on these?
No returns makes buying shoes on Massdrop VERY difficult.

Norfizzlemy local running store has thee so I went down to take a look. 1st-had to size up 1/2 size. 2nd-shoes are pretty awesome w/ trail running in mind. I did 2 miles on the treadmill and they felt light/fast/super grippy. The store does a foot scan and throws inserts in for free and they got even better. 3rd-$60 is as low as you will find these, my local has them at $130

barrelrollerAaaaand they're out of my size.. How is it that they can run out of a size if the order is being put in directly with Inov-8?? It seems if they can run out of sizes then I ought to be able to do an exchange once I've tried them on..

what is the policy on returns and exchanges? With the fit controversy I'm a little worried about buying a shoe that won't necessarily fit me well.

I'm a 9 in Adidas (27 cm), 9.5 in Nike (27.5 cm) and 9 in Columbia (27 cm). I ordered a 9.5 for the Inov-8 which are 27.5 cm according to their chart: https://www.inov-8.com/row/size-guide?___store=row I also found this useful calculator. See if it helps anyone: https://sizeseeker.com/mens-shoe-size-converter/ Hope I got it right.
Update: Since I was still not at rest, I went to a local shop and measured the shoe. After doing that I changed the order to 10 US-M.

I went to a local store and tried the shoes just to be sure. Good thing that I did. I'm a 43 EU which by Inov-8 is actually 10 M US (28 cm). So I changed the drop I ordered from 9.5 to 10.

A lot of people recommend going up a half, or even full size, for Inov8 shoes. But not everybody. FWIW, I wear a size 12.5 in everything - Inov8, Altra, Vibram FF, Hanwag, Adidas and so on. I do not feel like these are short, but it is probably that they are narrower than what people prefer or are used to, so they size up. A narrower toe box usually leads to more accurate footing on technical terrain and climbing.

I have the women's. They are the best trail runners/hikers/turf cleat combo I've tried. So lightweight, yet sturdy, responsive and tactile! As verified by personal experience and the company, they run a half size small, so it's a good idea to order half a size up. Best trail shoe rated on outdoorgearlab.com! This price is insanely good, considering they're not a widely sold brand. I think they beat Salomons on durability, since their narrower cleats tend to rip off easily: these are substantial and effective.

Here are review comments from Outdoor Gear Lab (on the GTX version): " The inov-8 Roclite 305 GTX is an all-terrain warrior. This traditional trail running shoe is our Editors' Choice winner because of its exemplary performance in the areas of foot protection and traction. We loved its waterproof features that makes trudging through streams a breeze. The outsole features three different densities of rubber that sticks to pretty much any surface (including wet rocks!). We loved the responsive midsole that keeps feet comfortable and protected on the trail. In addition, we love its balance of protection and sensitivity that makes this shoe one of the best on the market. Though this trail trotter has many perks, it also has a few downsides. While it has great traction and protection, stability is average at best with less lateral stability than the La Sportiva Bushido - Women's and Saucony Peregrine 7 - Women's. As a result, we can't recommend this shoe as the best for technical terrain (like we would with the Salomon Speedcross 4 - Women's). It also only really fits a narrow foot best. It's a great option for any length or style of run though. Take it for your next 5K or 50 miler, over mountain passes or nicely groomed single track. Rain or shine. "

How’s the width of these shoes? I have wide EE doggies. I usually wear Hoka Gaviotas. Last time I tried on a pair of Inov-8 shoes, they were narrow AF and we’re painful mid-foot (right around the arch) because of the constriction.

Left-Coast-DJHave you tried the Altras that regularly appear here? I'm luxuriating in ample toe box space in the two pairs I have (Escalante, & Duo).
