Well designed and crafted with a super smooth clicker. Attractive minimalist design. The subtle flat edge makes writing comfortable but due to its weight, doesn’t prevent the pen from rolling. With no clip, it’s really better for a desktop with the optional stand. Too heavy for a shirt pocket, from which it tends to escape at inopportune times. I’d by another if it comes up again on Drop.
I bought two. Both are solid, well-crafted, write nicely, and a good size for a pocket. Clicker isn't as "silent" as it was labeled, but it's quieter than many. And now, the bad: they're _very_ heavy pens and they're short enough that it doesn't help balance out the weight. So, in the end, they're really not usable for long-term writing tasks (hand fatigue sets in quickly). They're also quite round and there's no clip, so it tends to roll (at least until it gets to the flat part), though that flat part also helps holding the pen if you use it as the base for your grip.
I bought this pen as a gift (I have demobilizing fountain pen fetish), but when I got the package in the mail, I had to make sure it traveled safely. And ... I'm keeping it. It is incredibly eye catching and writes smooth as silk. The simple, old-school matching pen stand is just icing on the cake. Very well made product. And if you are a fountain pen and/or misc. office supply fanatic like me, I suggest that you don't go to the inventery website (https://inventery.co). Curse you drop - I do not need another brand of office supplies to obsess over.
I don't use my pens and pencils every day anymore.
I got a rotring 800 from massdrop while in college and was pleasantly surprised by the support and quality. While I used mechanical pencils every day back then I had to replace them constantly. I still use my rotring today, so I decided to take a similar plunge with the inventery pen. I'm not really a pen addict so you'll have to bear with me.
The first thing I noticed with the pen is the weight is more significant than I'm used to. This is nice and makes the pen feel less cheap than the plastic pens I'm used to. I did not get the stand because I wasn't sure I'd have the space for it. Currently I keep all my pens and pencils together in a pouch because I typically need access to all or none of them. In hindsight I kinda regret it hearing how the pen has gotten scratched up from others. For now I'm not too worried.
I really wish they had options for mechanical pencils and more colors. I would probably replace each of my Pilot Color Eno and the Rotring if they had a body/denotation for each of them.
I really tried hard to like this pen but it is not usable as a main writing implement. The clicker feels very cheap and often dies not catch as it requires you to push it further than expected. The main problem is the combination of the weight and the extremely smooth surface means you have to keep a very tight grip on it. Im not sure if the flat spot down the side is intended to stop it from rolling, but it dies a very poor job of that. It does look nice, though.
