Robust and classic, the Italix Viper’s Strike is a business-friendly pen that means business. It comes in a few different styles: the black-and-rhodium model with a rounded silhouette and blunt, flat ends; and the black-and-gold and all-gold models, which are slimmer, straighter, and more textured Read More
This is a hard pen to rate.
To get to the point, if I did not own Chuchman's Prescriptor and the Parson's Essential I would have given this pen 5 stars in a heart beat.
Italix nib work is impeccable, no question. However, the Viper's Strike is neither as well balanced as the Parson's nor does it have the large nib or the substance of the Churchman's to make up for it.
In short, a great pen overshadowed by its similarly-priced siblings.
Not a hard rate at all. Fabulous quality and build for its price range. I bought th
fine nib, which I find writes smooth. Pen is large, and posts well, but can become fatiguing.
Not meant for long writing episodes. Very good signature pen. Smooth and flowing. I like it a lot.
The pen arrived yesterday. I was impressed by the appearance and quality of construction. To me, the nib seems too small in relation to the body. I like the screw on posting of the cap. The medium nib is very smooth, but the ink flow is so heavy that I don't expect to be able to use it much.
Very nicely build pen, not the lightest pen out there so if you don't like heavy pens this may not be the pen for you. However it is very well balanced and if you don't write with this pen posted it is not as heavy, again it is very well balanced. Writes really nice, I have the F nib, ink flow is very nice. Nib is not flex however it is not extremely stiff either, the nib has a good balance.
A heavy but well writing pen. It definitely grew on me as it pointed out that I don't enjoy slim pens as much as I thought. It's a generous fine, mine, and feels sturdy.
The supplied converter could be better and the pen can have dry starts with certain inks if left overnight. Not a huge problem since it gets going pretty quickly. I had ibe ink I sometimes had to prime though.
I enjoy the pen and for a spur of a moment buy, it may very well be my best.
