Whether you choose leather or suede, a smart trainer in the classic plimsoll style will take you a long way. From shorts to jeans to an unstructured, casual cotton suit, there are few occasions that the J Read More
Your opinion is understandable. Although, I don’t think I knit-picked these sneakers too harshly (scoring could use some work though). I’m a fairly reasonable guy which, is why I decided against contacting anyone about a refund based on the imperfections I noted. All-in-all, I’m looking forward to good things from my next pair.
Dear MassDrop, could you, please, give any information about this drop? We are waiting more than 3 weeks and have no idea what is going on with this drop.
So, how delayed are we looking @TheShoeSnob? Or is the delay on the MassDrop side? I saw the J Fitzpatrick sneaker newsletter a couple days ago and it jogged my memory that I have 3 of these on the way! :) It also made me think you must have received new stock from the same order so I hoped they'd be shipped soon.
not happening here. Other internal issues at large and MD promising dates not realistic. Please read the other comments that I made about when shoes are coming. Direct to warehouse this time
TheShoeSnobThank you Justin @TheShoeSnob . Look forward to getting them. Though it wasn’t your fault the previous time, I’m glad history isn’t repeating itself.
I got a chance to visit J. FitzPatrick show room in NY and I'm officially a fan of Justin now. The dress shoes (except those on narrow lasts) accommodate my wide feet (US 9.5W) quite well. I purchased a pair of oxfords on TMG last (UK 8.5). The fit feels similar to my Alden 9D on Barrie last (Barrieis a wide last).
However, the Olympia sneakers don't quite accommodate my wide feet. I tried size 9 UK and the length felt alright, but the "side" of my feet felt pinched. I have the same pinched feeling when trying many sneakers from other brands, so this is definitely not a problem with the Olympia sneakers. I guess it's just due to the difference in construction between sneakers and dress shoes.
If your feet measure medium (D) on a Brannock device then these sneakers should work well for you. Maybe they will also work if your feet are just a tad wider than D. However, if your feet touch the "Wide" line on a Brannock device then they might feel narrow. I'd suggest exploring Justin's beautiful collection of dress shoes!
Lian.CI have not been able to find a good minimalist white shoe in wide. I’ve been looking everywhere, but the ones I’ve come across have some weird design element or are stupid expensive. Any thoughts? Clark’s had some but they sold out before I could pick up a pair and they have not responded to my email about a restock. I think shoe companies think that all people with wide feet like ugly shoes.
ie: New Balance (they have some that are good looking but mainly grandpa shoes or terrible color ways)
MrTravHaving the same pain here. Cannot find any white minimalist leather sneakers that fit my feet (which are wide at the "waist"). I've given up the search now and I'm mostly wearing below items with jeans.
Alden bluchers
Paraboot bluchers
New Balance daddy shoes
Something that magically works for me is Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 sneakers -- they look slim, but the shoe waist is a straight line instead of a "pinched in" curve, and the leather is thin & soft enough to stretch and conform to my feet shape. They're not high quality or minimalist, but they serve the purpose as I cannot find any substitute :(
Bad advice from Justin regarding the sizing. I have a very low instep and took my sneakers the same size I wear shoes on the NGT last and they turn out to be too short, I'm forced to wear them without the insole if I want to be comfortable.
Sorry to be a bother if I am a size 10uk in clarks g width dress shoe, what size do I need to get for theses? They look really nice and I would like to try a pair of leather sneakers
J. Fitz at $130. I'm on these.
I've got Wedgewoods and Tony II in UK 10. I guess I'll be ordering 10.5UK
Wish the black calfskin was available too.
I've said it before, we need another Wedgewood drop.
@TheShoeSnob please see comments below. I'm considering returning these as the sizing and accompanying advice is inaccurate. I haven't approached customer service yet as no doubt they will try to reject the return. I do quite like the sneakers and would rather own a pair, but at the same time feel what I received is not fit for purpose. Given we've been screwed around by Massdroop with this prolonged wait are you willing to arrange exchanges for us? Could salvage some good will for both parties....
