Just be aware that this machine does not have the presser foot pressure adjustment, putting it in the class of cheap machines. Check out the Janome Sewist 500 for a better quality machine at a reasonable price. I have machines from the 1800s on that all have this pressure adjustment, but some newer machines are made without it as a cost cutting measure. IMHO....and that of many others too.
WintersewistI have five Janome machines, and I don't know if I'd necessarily call this a "cheap" machine...the reality is that it's actually quite hard to find a computerized machine with adjustable presser foot pressure for much less than $800. For some reason, it's a feature that Janome only puts on its high-end computerized machines. If that feature is important for you and you're not wanting to spend several (several) hundred dollars, you're better off going for a mechanical machine (like the Sewist 500 recommend above, or the HD3000 which I own and love).
EpidendronThe Eversewn 30 is $400 and has adjustable presser foot pressure, and a host of other great features. Eversewn is a line made by a relative of the owners of Bernina. They have a good reputation, too.
But from what I can tell, this is a really good deal, since the price is similar, but less, than other sites, and you get a lot of extras here that are not available elsewhere - the table, hard case, even-feed foot, 1/4 inch foot.
The extension table cost almost $100.00, so that is a great deal for this little machine. I have something similar and wanted to buy the extension table ... that's how I know how much is cost to buy separately. Love the Janome brand, have a serger, quilter, and My Style 100 - which is just a simple machine, but I use it all the time.
This is deeply and beautifully written. I'm sorry for your loss....I know that time will never let you forget, but I hope your life is good and you find some beauty with each passing day. Carpe diem.
I have found a wonderful organization that is really helping on this journey from mourning to joy. It's called GriefShare.org. they have groups all over the country. They are free and each session lasts 14 weeks. The group I am in was a divine appointment, we are all interconnected although our losses are different. It is really helping me move on to a new normal. I still cry, I still have tough days but I no longer literally cry myself blind.
Thank you again for your compassion & all the heartfelt comments.
God bless you richly.
SheinemeidleIt has a manual thread cutter on the left side. The push button thread cutter (scissors button) is only available on models sold at Janome dealers.
