go for used, pb markers usually drop prices by 50% margin. Look around pbnation forum, lots of kids end up selling their gears after they realize it's an un-affordable sport.
You would have to think about the market if you want to sell paintball gear on here. For example, the Empire Axe is a great gun, but with it costing 450 new, and can be had for 280 used, then there is no way this site can compete with that pricing. Why you were so successful selling the Spire on her is because it is a relatively new item, and the resale value on a used spire is 140 at its lowest, so this new price actively competes with it. To expand your market in paintball, you would have to choose recent products that haven't dive-bombed in resale. For example: the Dye I4 mask has been out, costs 100 new, and goes for 45 used. BUT the new KLR mask made by HK comes out in a couple months (after they pass safety testing) at the price of 120, and will probably resell in the first months for 90-100. If the same 25% off pricing from the spire applies to this mask, then you would have people all over it. Plus this mask is better since you can purchase color kits after you buy to customize the mask. I know others besides me would love to get this new mask at 95 or possibly less. Just a suggestion, hope somebody sees this.
Get a massdrop with Azodin markers. Outstanding performance in semi auto (Kaos, Kaos-D) and pretty solid in electronic departments for a more than reasonable price. I've been using Kaos-D while I was playing competitive paintball in semi-auto league with great success. Actually everyone in our team were using them.
And their tech support is just amazing, nothing compared to planet eclipse, empire or dye.
As a newbie looking into potentially trying out paintballing (and tired of using rentals), this is not something I should be looking at, right? How much better is something like this to justify over something cheap and simple like a Tippman 98 C
andyYup, that'a solid starter pump. If you want to step up a grade then you have the Empire Sniper:

And then above that there is CCM, but I'm 99.999% sure they will not deal with you since they have waiting lists for all their guns.
