I live in the desert. It gets bright. Sometimes I go into the mountains. It's not always so bright there. These handle the transitions fantastically. If I'm really looking for it I can JUST notice the change from bright sunlight outside, to going inside. I've never felt like they're too slow to adapt. I've never been distracted by the adapting. They fit well, stay put well, and the snap-on side shade things are nice (though I wish they attached just a bit stronger). I've had these for over a year and they're still my go-to sunglasses. I've never been able to say the same about any other sunglasses I've tried for this long.
Have used Julbo for many years. Hiking in the Serengeti, climbing Mount Blance in the French Alps or on any number of adventures they have accompanied me on. I've always been more than satisfied with the quality and functionality of Julbo. These Montebianco glasses are no exception. Light weight great fit exceptionally Clear Vision and stylish. Perfect for around town, camping in the Badlands or any other National Park. This is a great pair of glasses you won't go wrong with.
I got MonteBianco with Zebra lenses, they are super light weight and the lenses do their job whether its little or super bright, anti-fog is pretty effective as well. I have been using them for running/cycling and have found them to be slightly loose by themselves, so I tend to put them on top of my hat/helmet+earphones which keeps them in place, unless if I am on rugged mountains. Over all, a great buy for Massdrop pricing!
I love these sunglasses. They fit great, stay put, they get a little darker in bright sunlight (it's not dramatic), and the optics through the lens are really good. They have good eye coverage from the sides, top and bottom.
I have owned many pairs of Julbos over the years - they are an excellent brand. I mostly go with the 'premium' Run model, but was looking forward to getting a 'budget' pair to chuck in the car.
It's hard to quantify why the MonteBianco feel cheaper than the Run, but they do - the slightly hokey snap-off shades might have something to do with it.
I'll stick with the Run model going forward, but the MonteBianco are a lower cost way to find out if Julbos are for you.
Lenses are great, good quality all around. They don't exactly stick to my head well though. If I lean over they tend to fall off my face, so minus 1 star. Still, excellent glasses that don't look too dorky
