I have happily had a Jura Micro Ena 1 for 8 years without issues. They are fantastic machines with a small footprint and without all the bells and whistles I would rarely use. I want a good cup of coffee fresh brewed with beans of my choice. I don’t want to clutter landfills with pods full of stale coffee. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it cheaper than Starbucks, probably also yes.
Be warned about Jura machines. Their brew units are not easily accessible. Basically you have to either send it in, or watch 30 min youtube videos on how to disassemble them. Most other makers have easily removable brew units for cleaning and replacement if needed. That being said, they make good coffee.
riboFor those looking for a stand-alone milk frother/heater, the Jura brand one is pretty expensive; I picked up one of these:

Way easier to clean than most frothers, as it uses a magnet to spin the agitator, which is also held on by a magnet; the interior is also ceramic coated. Cleaning issues is why I prefer coffee & frother as separate devices, and this frother is perfect.
Seriously, I get that other's are more expensive, but coffee only (no milk) is a tough way to go, especially at this price (although, I admit it's a good price) it just makes such a limited variety of drinks, it doesn't make a lot of sense (unless you have cash to burn and are completely adverse to cow juice, for now and forever).
Otherwise, expand your horizons and consider more versatile options...
Hardly anything more annoying that self-appointed coffee experts telling you what to drink and how to make it.
I just bought Saeco Xelsis and anybody who doesn't like super-automatics can kiss my frothy Latte Macchiato!!!
umidikimNope, coffee only, no milk. Check the Jura site for models that include manual or automatic milk frothers. Lots of other brands and configurations to chose from these days--depending on your preferences and checkbook balance ;- )
I had a different Jura (a monster unit with a gazillion functions, a waste for me since I never do frothing or milk in my espresso) for probably 15 years before it died. The only way I could beat the quality of the espresso was to go to a real skilled barista. I never had issues with really dark oily beans, although that wasn't my preferred. FYI, it didn't die a natural death - a cleaning crew futzed with it and broke a couple of internal pieces while cleaning, putting the cost of repair out of sight. I had one previous repair about six years in, and they were courteous and fast, although the shipping costs for that monster were awful.
Now that my move is over, I'm back looking... may join in this one...
EdinNJif you don't consume milk based drinks, the Jura is perhaps the best one to get.
Unless you're considering taking the leap and switching to manual...
