Quality, heavy solid tool, built to kill, defend or just chop wood.

This is unlike anything that i have purchased before, straight away removing it from its box it has a significant weight to it and thickness, which screams a trustworthiness that I'd be happy to have this in my possession if attacked by man or beast (in a breakdown of society of course) or to chop down small trees then up for making a camp fire. The provided manual inserted gives a handy guide for maintenance but more interestingly some history like how the name was given to this tool. Apparently, a man who had bought the knife many years ago, then while out in the wilderness one day was attacked by a bear, he used it to defend himself infact killing the bear later telling of the story back where he had purchased it, finally the story making its way back to the makers which then after inviting him back to personally tell his story and learning of his name, used the first two letters from his name KA then shortening bear to BAR, KA-BAR. The knife edge on this comes out of the box razor sharp, and sturdy enough to take a lifetime of sharpening more, also coming with a just as sturdy hard sheath which can be affixed to a belt. I like many on here enjoy the assortment of knifes provided for their particular use, however, this is just in a league of its own as a survivalist tool, and trust me once you have had this in your hand for a minute, you can totally envisage how this guy from the past managed to kill that bear.
