"The lights on the switches and around the edges are now and cool The key reaction is very fast and i can type fairly fast on this keyboard The led lighting patterns beats the razr ones x100000 so far this is a very nice keyboard probably due to the blue switches and pbt keys This is just an amazing keyboard to type on but it is kind of loud due to the blue switches which are known to be notoriously loud The lights on the switches and around the edges are now and cool The key reaction is very fast and i can type fairly fast on this keyboard The led lighting patterns beats the razr ones x100000 so far this is a very nice keyboard probably due to the blue switches and pbt keys This is just an amazing keyboard to type on but it is kind of loud due to the blue switches which are known to be notoriously loud
Oh? You're right, the review of the keyboard is full of lie.
How does this keyboard compare with the MK Typist Double Shot PBT Mechanical Keyboard (Kailh BOX White) ? https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=3164
Does it really have the "Box switch inside" text and the model number printed on the case? That ruins the looks of the board.
c_r_z
Yes, two of my coworkers have them and they are identical to the drop photos. It really doesn't ruin the look as much as you'd think though.
Wish I could buy just the keycaps.

Not the same
BlueCrowned
yeah I know but they are close
What profile are these keycaps?

hm. I thought they were one of those weird things between cherry and OEM. I don’t have any OEM to compare to though.
Hari_Seldon
They look like OEM to me, they probably look weird because of the unusual two tone coloring.
i like how it has a picture of the box switch on the top of it, but I'm not particularly a fan of the case.
How are the keycaps resistant to oil buildup from the skin?

Does someone know if there’s more going on with these keycaps? I’ve been buying pbt keycap sets like crazy trying to find another set with this perfect smooth/grippy texture and for some reason I can’t. Are these sprayed or coated or something?
Hari_Seldon
If you like smooth but kinda scratchy, the galaxy series caps that come on massdrop are pretty great.
Any reviews yet?

Yes you should make sure you enjoy the light 50g springs, the sharper, higher-pitched double-sounding clickbar, and the keycaps. Keyboards really are a personal preference thing. I ended up putting the Box White switches on another rig with thick pbt cherry profile keycaps and enjoyed the feel even more, then a buddy of mine who usually prefers thick pbt keycaps just loved the lighter keycaps on the commemorative ... but for him it's more about correct surface friction than ultra-stable press feel. In the end I found the best switch to alleviate physcial strain by putting Hako springs inside Box switches. So much fun. :-D
BlueCrowned
I actually have one of these keyboards. They are a solid keyboard, and has some pretty good features with the LED's. The style may not be for everyone, but for the price, I think its a good keyboard.
Any news on this? It's now a month past expected ship date...

"Note: This drop is for White (Blue) switches" Also comes with a wireless Mouse (Dog).

"White (clicky, similar to MX Blue) Switches" would get the point across far better.
ferretallica
Yep, but it's Massdrop. Minimal effort, high profits.
I love the keycaps, But it would be better with a less gamer font or to make the blank!

Ah, yes...I loathe backlighting, and by default I guess any caps that are produced with that in mind, because of course without the lighting they are somewhat incomplete.
Well no shit :)
LOL! I had to laugh at the "Box Switch Inside" logo blatantly on the keyboard. I was like..."did they really just market that to THIS community?
psiclone
What u mean? I think putting that statement on the keyboard looks sorta ugly, but meh
Shouldn't it day Box white (clicky)? Saying; white (blue) is like saying Banana (bacon)

I don't agree with what they did here, but the people who care enough to exactly know what switch these are, probably ordered them directly from the source already. Massdrop is starting to become that shop that just generalizes specifications to make them more understandable for the people that don't really care.
TTheuns
I definitely agree with that
Please, please, don't refer to these switches in any way shape or form as being remotely "Blue" switches. Kailh Box Whites are a 55g actuation with a click bar to make them clicky but not tactile (no bump). If this came with any other options as well, such as heavy boxes by Kailh x Novelkeyz I might be interested. Should be a fun little keyboard though.
Commemorative of... what?
jooni
The BOX Switch product line.
Is this programmable? I.e. keybinds and macros?

Thanks, but the same would be true for any keyboard. I'm wondering more about saving things to the firmware.
PeterFmd
According to this (screenshot from the PDF Kailh sent me) there is some kind of macro recording function.

I don’t like this case :/

These are my favorite switches ever though!

Kinda pisses me off that it says Box white (blue) switches. How dare they compare the click bar to a substandard click jacket switch.
Are the secondary legends dye-subbed or some other printing method? Does the windows lock do something screwy with the key backlighting, like the GMMK did?
IllPickABetterUserNameLater
I was able to get these questions answered. The legends are probably dye-subbed and don't seem as though they'd wear off. Definitely not pad-printed, he sent a very close shot of one of the keys. And the Fn-Win lock does not affect the backlighting, like with the first-gen Glorious Modular or some of the cheap imports on Amazon where one of the function key lights turns off.
i don't believe that i am colour blind, but the switches do not look blue and white. i only see white. is this like that magic dress photo on facebook from the other year?

Nor is it technically correct.
BOX Whites are linear switch designs with a separate clickbar, which generates a little bit of tactility and a metal on plastic click. Blues, both MX and Gateron use a plastic click jacket which cause a tactile bump and a plastic on plastic click.
I own both and the BOX Whites are vastly superior IMHO.
TTheuns
Agreed, the BOX Whites are clearly superior to the standard MX Blues here. Far more robust and has a clicking resonance that is quite decent.
Those looking for quiet switches to use late at night on their PC's, need not apply here.
Is the back lighting on the keys also RGB?
Is the USB cable detachable?

Per the description, it is a wired board. No detachable USB.
