Not good at all.
Though the shears are sharp, they are very difficult to use as the two halves separate all the time. I would never buy this product again. If this is an example of Japanese attention to detail, I am glad I do not drive one of their cars.
Recommends this product? No

cdhornetYou made a design detail that simply doesn't work for you into a negative comment about an entire culture's work ethic. Funny. Maybe you're just opening the shears too far when you use them.

cdhornet I know what you mean--I had '78 Celica that used to come apart like that all the time. In frustration I finally just duct taped the two halves back together--solved the issue but looked unsightly. I blame the entire population of Japan too.

cdhornetI suspect you never actually bought these shears. More specifically, I think you’re trolling for an argument to express something entirely different. The question is, LOL, why would you choose Drop of all places to do so? This is a very limited audience versus somewhere like HuffPost where you can simply wail away and very likely find someone to side with you. We’re talking about kitchen stuff here and you’re introducing how bad Japanese car manufacturers are. I’m done...

Twillz1No. They come apart all the time. Wife agrees. We have learned to very careful when using then as, on a couple of occasions, one of the halves has fallen to the floor and almost hit me in the foot.

HualicopterThanks for the analysis but the only problem I have germane to this discussion is with the shears.

Twillz1I did not make a negative comment about their work ethic. I am sure they work very hard but that does not preclude producing a faulty or flawed product.

PeteNowayNot even close. You could have made the conclusion about the shears without bringing up "I'm glad I don't drive a Japanese car." Which is even more stupid when it's a well accepted fact that the most reliable cars in the world ARE Japanese.

PeteNowayInstead of doubling down on a weak hand, go back and read what you typed: "If this is an example of Japanese attention to detail, I am glad I do not drive one of their cars." Perhaps your intent was to be witty, but that doesn't change your choice of words. Separate industries, to say the least. Imagine if someone's response to a product was" If this is an example of good old American know-how, then... "

cdhornetYou still fail to understand how your "opinion" has racial undertones in it. Again, Twillz and I have both told you how you could have criticized the product WITHOUT bringing in a statement about Japan into it. How about you just learn from your mistake and correct your review.

cdhornetIt seems as if you and Pete Noway are the same person, which might be confusing the thread. (I'm referring to you both responding in the first person) Either way, you go carefully as well and thank you for at least trying to think outside of that box you've set up residence in.

Hualicopter On a similar note, years back, I'd just made myself a cocktail and was about to take a sip, when the phone rang. It was my boss and we ended up talking for quite a while. When I got back to my drink, all the ice had melted. I'll tell you one thing--I'll never buy a fucking car made in Iceland!

cdhornetWhy are you guys putting this much effort into arguing about kitchen shears on the internet? Why are you so mad? He doesn't like them or japanese cars and japan doesn't care if you defend him. No one cares about his comment unless their looking for an anecdote about the product. Ajaugust must work for the product maker.

PeteNowayPete, you are now fully disclosed, and it is not pretty. I will close this out with the following... Come November, 2020, please keep in mind that I will nullify your single Vote for the ‘greatest president’ with just one swipe of my wrist as I vote. That’s how easily you become ‘neutralized’. “Poof”, and you’re done.
