I hope this comes back
Do they build the board and will the keys be backlit?
how much is this when it drops?
Just received my kit today!
If anyone is willing to sell one, I'm interested. Also, how much was the massdrop price?
If anyone changes their mind on this, please let me know and I'll be glad to take it off your hands....

i think MD will ship this in next 2 week, so you can buy this in Next drop
I can't seem to find the KBDfans hot-swap sockets on their site. Any advice on how to approach the larger contact holes for the top row? I'd rather not oversolder them.
Wow, shipping already. That was unexpected, but I'll take it.
LevelSteam
Not yet for me, but I can’t wait to be in your shoes!
Case Color Option: Gray Plate Color Option: Red Optional Keycap Set: NPKC129-Key PBT Cherry Keycap Set - Red/Black (+$25.00) Optional Switches (90-pcs): Cherry MX Clear (+$38.00)
TransATL
I didn't get any keycaps or switches, so that could be why too. Mine will just be the PCB, frame, and plate.
Silver case & purple plate for GMK Laser? Or all purple? Can't decide.
So can we add our own LEDs to the top side to make it a backlit keyboard? (in addition to the pcb's underglow leds)
Francisco
Yes.
Hey guys, what color of aluminum case do you think would look best with gmk laser? Having a hard time thinking it through.
Rice_Krispies
I guess blue or purple one :P
Rice_Krispies
I went with black, as the GMK Laser themes are a bit hard to match. It's a very nice color overall, and the board is so dang nice to hammer away on.
Is it possible to use this kit with this PCB - http://www.lfkeyboards.com/smk-tkl.html - to get an Alps setup going?
gbchk
Probably not, as the PCB is for a tenkeyless. The PCB is apparently too big.
I wish the key cap sets displayed would be available to buy when you buy these boards
nopunchespulled
It was last time. I wonder why it's not this time.
Not sure if this was answered but can some one from MD confirm this kit does not come with authentic Cherry stabilizers? K-type buyers had to buy Cherry stabilizers after the fact, which sucked. No blame here just asking for clarification so everyone knows exactly what they are getting.

no problem glad I could help out

Have used the knock off stabs on two boards and have not had a single problem with them. Just clip and lube them before you put them on the PCB. After that they feel solid and there is no rattle.
Don't suppose there is a way to get just the plate? I already have a 75% board but would be interested in getting a different colored plate.

kbdfans website sells all components separately.
What are the keycaps called on the preview pictures?

EnjoyPBT Hiragana PBT Keycap set, you can find it on Aliexpress
One of the photos in the description is of the KBD66, not the KBD75. Just a heads up!

removed, thanks for flagging
Pretty sure this board supports a split spacebar
I just assembled my kb, I've been reading that the fn key is mapped to the lock key but it's not working for me. Any way for me to change the under glow without taking it back apart and hitting the reset button?
Any update on the backordered Zealios?
I also contacted support and they told me the same thing. This is ridiculous. I've also thought about canceling and buying elsewhere.
zerowizard
I canceled my order and received a refund. The support service was very helpful and did not cause any issues with the refund request.
Like some of you I also still have not received my keyboard, so I reached out to support. This was the response I got:
I've taken a look at your order and unfortunately, some of your selected options are still currently back-ordered. Once we receive them from the vendor your order should ship out immediately, sadly I don't have an ETA when this will be.  My order for reference: Case Color Option: Blue Plate Color Option: Blue Switches (90-pcs): Zealios 65G Tactile
Anyone else with a similar order still waiting? I am considering canceling my order and just ordering directly from KBDFans instead...
Severun
I'm still waiting.
black case, purple plate, cherry blues, caps
Keyboard complete! First keyboard I've built. It was a lot of fun to put together. The keyboard feels great. I went with red switches since I wanted something really quiet so that I don't disturb my coworkers. And honestly, coming from shitty laptop keyboards (looking at you macbook), the reds are much more satisfying to type on than anything I normally use. The keyboard itself is heavy and really sturdy. My keycap set will be replaced nautilus when it arrives, but honestly the keycaps that came with it look pretty great too. I haven't had a chance to play with any of the qmk software yet. Looking forward to it.

That looks great, you could have gone with Cherry MX Brown Switches as well :)
Moeeed
I was really torn between browns and reds. I had a sample kit and the Browns sounded slightly louder. I wanted to play it safe and make sure this wouldn’t bug coworkers. Anyway, I ended up buying another keyboard and selected Browns for it. Should be here in January.
Anyone else not even receive it yet? It doesn't even show mine as shipped?
Wrote a sort of programming guide for anyone who just got the latest round of KBDFans75 boards.
Find it here - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1USoAn8FIGihK8RNVE1zbtbQ0aKB6MBenvmyz6DUD3qs/edit?usp=sharing
SUPER happy with this board. Just finished building it and testing it out, works like a charm. This version is almost perfect compared to the previous generations of the kit. The stabilizers are the PCB mounted kind - had I known that I would have ordered the gold stabilizers from MD... I also replaced the Phillips screws with hex screws. The stabilizers are pretty good, with lube they don't rattle. The board fired up and the base map is just fine. It came with everything I ordered, the quality of the parts was fantastic... Super glad I joined the drop.
We'll see how reprogramming goes... That part isn't very well documented at all...
The keycaps I ordered are garbage, but they were $20 so...

what size screws do these use ?
Onslash
M2 x 6 or M2 x 10. M2 x 6 is the most common use.
My keyboard is working perfectly, but I can't get bootmapper (version 0.10.0) to work. I get the same error "Error opening ps2avrGB device: The specified device was not found" on both osx and windows 10. I've tried holding various keys (ctrl, U, P, Q, crl+alt+shift+shift) before plugging in the keyboard, without any success. Does anyone know what I'm missing? Thanks!

I ended up using this guide to program mine? Perhaps you didn't run the driver is what it most likely sounds like ^_^ https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/6hl837/kbd75_r3_qmk_howto_guide/
same as above try following this guide sounds like your missing the driver for the keyboard https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/6hl837/kbd75_r3_qmk_howto_guide/
Just finished assembling mine. Great keyboard. Not a lot in the way of good building guides. This was my first kit so the build started a little slow.
So uh... how do I build this? Do I just solder the switches into every hole where a switch can go?
Edit: I ended up following this video, which is great if you ignore the stuff about how the included stabilizers are inadequate and the whole lubing every single part thing. https://youtu.be/RRMmn10n3tQ
andkon
First you'll need to decide what layout you want, then install the stabilizers, and then solder a switch into every hole where there is a corresponding place in the plate.
Anyone else only got one switch with it? Ridiculous.
mixy
I'm still waiting for a shipping notice.

I only got one switch with mine wasn't the end of the world things happened and I was prepared for it. I ended up having other switches I used and love the board. its wonderful. Also massdrop was extremely quick to help resolve the switch missing issue. Two Thumbs up for there support.
