The switch tester is a fairly sturdy piece of acrylic and has been a great way to teach others about the differences in mechanical switches. It, more than my keyboards, was a gateway for my wife to realize that she wanted a keyboard of her own. She had fun picking the switches. My only gripe is that some of the switches are a bit loose and fall out easily, but that shouldn't be a dealbreaker for anyone.
I love it. It has been sitting on my office desk for about two weeks and every time someone visits they always play with it. It has helped me encourage some of my coworkers(developers) to look into getting a mechanical keyboard. Sad part is they all seem to like the quiet ones.
River117I'm sure the higher switch count is a factor, but it's worth noting that the material that the switch housing is made out of does affect the smoothness and sound of a switch. Some specifically seek out (or avoid) milky or clear housings because they prefer the feel or sound of a particular type of plastic. This is behind a lot of the housing swaps that people do when they make "frankenswitches" also.
ConnBrittI got an email saying "If we find that the drop is going to be delayed by more than 30 days, we will let you know." And now I come here to find out that there's a new drop and the shipment has been moved to June? What's up with that?
TheRagingPigThe drop done early last year had a two month delay. I would assume it would be the same considering the global situation has not changed that much.
Upcharge for labels? Hope the car manufacturers don't get any ideas! All those buttons in my car, without labels or icons... unless I pay extra for them. Greed has no upper limit.
DO NOT get in on this drop.
It was already done in February with an April 5 shipping date, but emailed previous buyers that it was delayed and wouldn't make the deadline.

Yet here they are selling more of them before fulfilling the original.
These is absolutely scummy of Massdrop to go forward with this.
Just want reiterate what others have been saying- I got in on the drop in February and also still have not received the item. I've spent far too long waiting / looking forward for this item to come in the mail and yet, when the supposed shipping date, came around (Apr 5), there was a delay.
I'm astonished that there's another drop for this item while people who got in over two months ago haven't even received as much as an update or an explanation from the manufacturer.
It would be nice if the tester had some electronics built in for detecting key press and release events. Something as simple as a PCB that lights up a single LED when any switch makes contact would make this tester much more useful. Without this kind of feedback, there is no way to tell how short the key travel can be made before typing becomes unreliable, which is an important characteristic of switches for many people, including myself.
