Scootyi used to use this for a tarp for my hammock setup but the 12x12 is so huge i often found myself leaving it at home and taking my youkon outfitters 9x9. the quality on this tarp is really good, and it is tough, but its sooo big. for hammocks or backpacking i really like the 9x9 size. in the end i never used itmuch because of how large it was and sold it off. i hope this helps

pgallagher@pgallagher That's not a typo - 450 mm is not the thickness of the fabric, but the waterproof rating. The higher the number, the greater the waterproofness.

I just scored a 12x12 for $30 from Amazon. Always have it in my cart and when price drops I get notified. Saw it was $30 and jumped on it.
