Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

It's pretty heavy first of which in and of itself is a big reason why these aren't very popular (the price tag being the even bigger reason, of course); these sound every bit like a TOTL pair of headphones though and if you're really wanting to fork out around 2 grand purely for sound then these would actually be my pick over the competition hovering that price point.
This may not be the best description ever for a pair of headphones, it most certainly is not, but they sound like they look. They have a very seductive/charming sound to them, they're quite intimate (as in smaller soundstage albeit great separation) and rich, think more LCD2C or original non-fazor'd 2s and HD650s rather than HD800. They're akin to other planars, their bass isn't supremely fast like some but it's got all their other qualities in quantity, extension and control. The mids are incredible and their strongest suit in my opinion (think LCD-3 level mids or higher if you've heard those), the treble is pleasant and occasionally sparkly if need be whilst remaining inoffensive (again, think HD650s) as they're still darker tilted.
They're outright better than the HD800 and 800S to me in all accounts when it comes to sound, the signature appeals to me more than that of the Hifiman HE-X/HE-1000s (which are more ethereal and airy/dry), they have a better overall cohesive sound than the LCD-X/LCD-3, their mids and treble are far more to my liking than those of the Mr.Speakers Ether Flow (open and closed)... I'm sure I'm missing some 1.5-2.5k contenders here but I'm sure you get the gist.
This is all far as sound only goes though - of course the HEX/HEK and HD800/S are far more comfortable, as are the Mr.Speakers, but they're really not uncomfortable especially if you're already used to stuff like Audeze. They're heavy but it's properly distributed and they're really not a chore to wear.
PS: they ooze quality, obviously, as is apparent in any and all pictures as well as reviews (of which there are a few you can read out there). What you get is MUCH nicer than what the competition offers you if you care for packaging and materials.
I'm sure someone will have the new Tror at Socal too which are said to be amazing, there's no way you'll leave disappointed.
