By Massdrop’s own definition, this is not a ‘drop. We, as members of Massdrop and general knife enthusiasts alike, can purchase this knife almost anywhere for equal or less money, with two day, free shipping. As for the knife, eh... Like someone stated way earlier, 420HC steel is just an OK steel outside of Buck’s Paul Bos heat treated 420HC. Having used and sharpened both, PB treated and non-treated 420HC, I have to agree that this knife needs to have a standard upgrade to its steel. So Kershaw decides to upscale the looks.... come on...., make the knife better ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
glennacMassdrop's pictures are not accurate sometimes. I've seen black browns and orange bronzes a lot. I don't own this knife so I can't help but if your really interested I'd check kershaw and other websites. Wish I could help more
I like Kershaw. Their Speed Safe AO has never failed in any of mine. I like the imitation bronze color. I don't like the aluminum handles. The folders that I have with smooth metal handles ( or smooth G10) are not pleasing to use. They are too slick. From the pic, I would say that the ergos are good to better. I, too, would be hesitant to get a 420HC blade from anyone but Buck. (Well, my Leathermen are an exception.) If this scales were in G10, I suspect that I would have gotten over my non-Buck 420HC prejudice.
