Edge retention is a function of the blade's steel. The blade steel here is 8Cr13MoV which is WIDELY used by the industry and is basically a Chinese copy of AUS8 steel. The Spyderco Tenacious uses it. This is a simple knife - easy to manufacture, and useful.
