It really "triggers" me that Massdrop is referring to this as a gun barrel.
It's not shaped like a barrel, it's shaped like a cylinder. The barrel is the thing the bullets are propelled down by super hot expanding gas. The cylinder is the part on the revolver that you load cartridges into, and spent ones out of.
The thing in the center of the image touching the pen, is the barrel. The big thing on the left, above the trigger, is the cylinder.

I would get this except Keybar doesn't appear to offer one without the shitty "QuickDraw" logo on top. It truly cheapens the aesthetics.

I was about to join this drop thinking this was under 30 dollars... then I saw $65. Ha ha really for a freaking pen holder? No thanks.

I had a friend 3d print one that holds 9 pens, has a clip for post-its and additional space for other clutter in the center. Granted its plastic and doesn't look as fancy, but it also cost only $20 in material. Massdrops turning into a fancy giftshop for hipsters and people with too much spare income looking to dodge some taxes lol

RunawayTo each his own. I think a machined aluminum one with bearings at $60 is a better "value" than a plastic one at $20.
Sure it's not cheap and an entirely discretionary / non essential purchase, but I can definitely see myself sitting at my desk and giving it a spin while dealing with writers block...

Uploading this pic wiped out the text of my comments! Rather than type it in again, "one picture is worth . . . ." Product was not QC'd properly, having manufacturing residue, dirt, aluminum chips, etc. and had to be cleaned before use. Poor form. Corrective action required. Thank you. PS. There was a lot more dirt than shown in pic during cleaning process. Irritating!
