I really wanted one till i read this was made of aluminium? Cmon seriously! Dont think ive ever heard of very smal tools being made of aluminium before, however this will go great for all those show ponies who own copper knivers and carbon fiber prybars! Lol

I'd be behind that. I think it would do well.
After using this daily for a year and a half, my Gerber Shard gets 99% of its use in tightening the screws on this thing down twice a week. It's definitely become something more that I worry about than something I'm comfortable carrying every day. There's a tiny quarter-turn difference between comfortably rotating a key out and not being able to get it out comfortably. Every week I'll take the KeyBiner off my belt and notice my key dangling freely.
Thank you!

Hey everyone -- Sorry about that, our shipping calculator defaulted to 'signature required' delivery for overseas orders. I've corrected the error and you should see shipping around $6 to most countries. Thanks for flagging!

Hey Jonas, thank you very much. Could you also check if there's any issue about shipping for the embassy pen as well please? I'm getting about $36+ for shipping on that pen. Thanks

Has the issue with the wiregate popping off been fixed? People have reported almost losing their Keybiners due to this.
Also, there have been reports that the Al and Cu versions are too soft such that using them as tools will ding/bend them. Not sure about the Ti version though. Are there plans for a SS version?

Hi all, I am curious about the design of the wire gate. How is it retained within the body of the unit? I have concerns of it being able to detach unexpectedly. For comparison, if you look at a photo of the wire gate on the NiteIze S-Biner, you can see that the ends of the wire gate within the body have been flattened over in order to keep it solidly attached to the unit. From the photos I have seen of the Keybiner, I can not see how the gate may be retained. If someone who owns one of these units or @FortiusArms could comment, that would be much appreciated! Thank you in advance.

sgtpopwellJust the wire tension and thickness of the item. If you intend to pull the wiregate sideways, then yes, it will come out. But having it jostled loose during day to day operation is nearly impossible. And yes, I just tried it on mine.
And this is very easy to remedy: get a zip tie and add it to the wiregate just inside the loop. Tighten all the way, and snip off the excess. This will prevent the wiregate from releasing and should not affect its tension.

I bought the copper for $50 shipped two weeks ago, I like it so far. From what I've read online customer service is pretty good. Also, mine is holding 6 keys and a flash drive.

I don't understand why they would ever sell it in aluminum or copper. Both of these metals are incredibly soft and will be ruined on their first use... Do not buy if you want a lasting tool...
Email chris@fortiusarms.com and I will get a replacement out immediatly

I have 2 of these little gems (titanium and aluminum). They're the best keychain/multi-tools I've ever used. Much, much better than the KeySmart, KeyBar, TiKey, or any standard carabiner out there.
EDIT: I just joined this drop for the copper. I always can find good use for another.

I had one of these. It fell unscrewed by itself after a couple weeks of use, and it almost lost 2 of my keys. Needs to be regularly tightened and maintained, not like a normal key ring that will hold together for years.
NightsWatchSorry you had an issue. There is locktite pre applied to all the screws so that this does not hapen. The issue was most likely that you used a screw just a bit too short. If you do not thread the screw into the key retaining bar at least 6 full turns the lock tite can not really do its job. Often its better to go to the next longer screw and add some of the washers to take up the slack. If you need any replacement parts please shoot me an email at chris@fortiusarms.com and I will get some shipped out to you

Which version of the carabiner should one buy if they plan on using the bottle opener alot? Is the aluminum version too weak?

dchanThe bottle opener seems fine for me so far, the flathead screwdriver bent and a little was ripped/shaved off when I tried using it the first time. The bottle opener is thick enough to not bend, but the sharp end of the cap is leaving nicks. I like the design, but the aluminum isn't going to last long which is very disappointing for $30.

dchanTitanium is the best choice if you plan on using the bottle opener or any of the multi tool options. I have the aluminum and titanium. The titanium is considerably heavier, more durable.

Is this carabiner suitable for for carrying into a flight? Or is one of the tools a TSA-no-no?
Thanks!
SidewinderXI've been told by the local tsa administrator that it does not break any of their rules, but they said that some offices interpret the rules differently. I have not received any conflicting reports with over 12,000 made
