The result of a popular Kickstarter, KeySmart offers a clever alternative to the traditional keyring. By providing the structure and order of a Swiss-made pocket knife, KeySmart effectively eliminates pocket bulk, thigh poke, key jingle, and other snares of keychains past Read More

I have this KeySmart rugged for 6 months already. It works well in holding the keys, the screws are ok, I added a bit of thread locker on them to be sure. Picture was taken the first days after getting it, now it looks more used, but still holds like in the first day.
Mario.PaulIndeed. That is why I added thread locker from Boker the moment I got it. No problems so far. In the end this Keysmart is worth the investment.
staticsurferThere are no plans for a Rugged Ti yet, however, we're always innovating and working on the next product. If the Rugged proves to be a hit, I wouldn't doubt that a Ti version would follow :)
exploitI have a huge key on one side and it became loose on that side, however it wasn't especially screwed tight in the first place. I don't see how it could come apart, especially since it would require both screws to get very loose.
I don't have the rugged version, but I do have both the standard length and extended length of the non-rugged KeySmart. One of the things I like most about the KeySmart is how slim and minimal it is - especially compared to some of the other similar and inspired solutions.
I would highly recommend getting the extended length version where possible, as it allows keys and other items to close with much less side extrusion without resorting to aggressive spacer use to minimize direct offsets (aka, trading vertical thickness for less side extrusion).

BTW - if anyone is a 3D printer wiz, I'd gladly pay for a "cap" for the Corsair Flash Voyager GO which would allow it to attach to the KeySmart system. MicroUSB on one side, 'keyring hole' on the other. https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Voyager-USB3-0-Android-devices/dp/B00HVT27B8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1465569930&sr=8-1&keywords=usb+otg+corsair
These aren't very rugged. Would not recommend if that's the reason you are purchasing like I was.
The bolt holding it together sheered on mine from a hip height drop.
HaulienMy wife's keysmart broke at the screws/posts much like the picture above. I'd be all over this if I could find any indication that those posts received the same kind of "rugged" treatment the plates did, as those are the clear most likely point of failure.
I adore the product, mind you. And I highly doubt those screws would bend under any kind of stress that wouldn't also bend the crap out of the key, if my wife's experience is any indication. But to get my wife back on board, those posts/screws would need to be stronger than the keys it's holding. Make a version with Ti or tungsten carbide posts/screws and you'd have a near-perfect product, to my mind.
Also, to those people reporting the screws coming loose: I put a tiny amount of threadlock on the screws (the non-permanent kind, to be clear). I would wager that goes a long way to preventing unwanted loosening over time.
I don't like this company much. The added "rugged" logo makes it look crowded and ugly. I used the titanium version for a while. better quality overall. But the cost of that version is usually way too high.
StevenConteHi Steven, yes it should work however, I would highly recommend using this new 2-14 Key Expansion Pack that comes with this Rugged. It will work much better than older versions of the expansion pack.
I'd probably be in if there was a way to include some of the accessories on the site (quick disconnect, etc). Otherwise I'd just be buying from here, getting the rest from there, and paying shipping costs twice - Probably more expensive than the $5 it saves me to buy it on massdrop.
