I bought this as a Christmas gift for my dad a few years back. Out of the box it was fairly sharp, it could give your arm a nice shave, after a couple of passes on my Wicked Edge Pro it was deadly sharp. It's a bit on the heavy side, but overall it's held up nicely for my dad and still looks like it on day 1. Kizer is a great brand
I really like the size, weight and style of this knife.
It's very well made the fit and finish are great. I grew up with Buck & Puma folders so I appreciate the bigger knives.
It is short of a 5 star knife but for the money it's a steal. Well Made, Comfortable, solid and super sharp. It's a great with basically no flaws. I should have given it a 5 star but then there are $250 knives that you have to reserve that for. Absolutely buy one!
I like the knife, but have a complaint. It is a heavy knife with a great blade. It feels good in my hand and seems to be really well made. My only complaint is the sharp edges on the tab used to deploy the knife open. Mine is very sharp and causes pain when I open it. I am going to sand the sharp edges off and see if it's a little more comfortable to open.
I've owned this knife for a year now, carried it daily for the first 2 months, and it continues to see rotational use every week or so. This is a great knife. If you know you like large knives for EDC then I'd definitely recommend it. If you can't stand large knives then please, stay away.
The tip of the knife crumbled off like a piece of feta cheese. The knife only comes with a 30 day warranty, and even though this happened prior to that, I was a bit slack in contacting customer support, so Massdrop didn't help. I contacted Kizer themselves, and even though their website claims a "lifetime warranty," all that means practically is that they will sell you a replacement blade at nearly the cost of a brand new knife (if you send money directly to a Hong Kong based PayPal account). In this price range, save some money and buy a Kershaw or go a step up and get a CRKT or Spyderco.
Nothing to say about quality or style.
I like VG 10, excellent Steel for cuttelery.
But 2 defaults :
- Opening too smooth so can fail.
- The linerlock is flush so not easy reachable and uncomfortable (corner not machines)
This knife is fantastic. Perfect size for my hand, the opening mechanism requires a little wrist flip, and opens and locks smoothly. The lock release mechanism is the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5. It is a little uncomfortable to press on, and my thing has gotten pinched in between the lock release and the frame a couple times. Other than that, it is an awesome knife.
