Product Description
Fixed blades are a somewhat new avenue for Kizer, a company that’s been making quality folders for years. This one clocks in at nearly 8 inches long, with a hefty blade made from the best of the best in CPM-S35VN stainless steel Read More

I own one of these with the black G10 handle. It's a great knife. Very sharp from the factory, hasn't needed resharpening with maybe half a year of moderate use. The grind is reasonably thin, but closer to a hard-use tactical than a kitchen slicer. The handles feel great, very ergonomic. If you have medium-small hands you can fit your whole hand behind the choil, if you have large hands you can choke up on the choil and this will feel like a Spyderco. The sheath is ok, bit of a rattle to the fit but retention is alright and the belt clip design is nice and allows for attachment and removal of the knife without having to take off your belt. With a medium-length jacket you can actually open carry this knife without anything showing. For this price you just can't beat the value of an S35VN blade with G10 and Kydex. I definitely recommend and would buy again if I liked the handle color here.

Yes, I see your point. It looks a bit off. My point, however, was that a knife can be considered concealed even if only part of the knife is showing, such as the handle.

ScottieGDefinitely. Especially with how NY knife law interpretation is trending, it's very important to not only be aware of your local laws but also the local law enforcement's interpretation of the written laws. I wouldn't even try carrying a fixed blade anywhere that doesn't explicitly allow open and concealed carry.

There aren't many reviews on this knife, this seems to be the only one in English. But the T1 is a fantastic knife and this is just the fixed blade version that's slightly bigger and obviously tougher.

JKreeseThanks for posting this review. It was informative and not the usual repetitive "knife review video" stuff... batoning, stab tests (which is a good way to break the tip off), feather sticks, ferro rods, etc.

This knife is gorgeous. I have a Schrade SCHF13 which I really like (even though it's "cheap"), and this knife kindof reminds me of that one (though there are obvious differences, starting with the higher quality of the Kizer). The handle on this Kizer seems short though and I've never been a big fan of choils, especially on a smaller knife. I could see the back end of the tang (where the lanyard hole is) being a hot spot for larger hands. Tough to beat S35VN for $75 though... might give it a shot.

Man, I did go ahead and jump on it. I saw how fast they were selling and it's a ridiculously good price for S35VN, so I bit. We'll see how I like the handle... I figure I can at least get my money back on eBay or something if I don't like it.

DanXYeah, very good price for S35VN. Of course I also like the simple design, blade and handle, plus full tang. This would be my first fixed blade. Awesome deal!

Took my money then canceled because they were “back ordered “ .they don’t check these things first? Huh. Guess that’s the way massDrop is run. I thought they were competent business. Oh well. Seems sketchy to me.... there are no real deals Here. Were there every real deals here or overstock sellers only?

Anybody got experience with this as a light camp knife? Food prep and medium to light tasks.

fhoodPerfectly decent light camp knife, not the best slicer but not a butterknife. Could baton easily but the size of the sticks would be so small the need becomes negligible. I've used this knife to cut fruit, steak, carve, and while it doesn't excel at anything it's perfectly adequate. The steel is a major plus, you can use this S35VN as a food prep knife with very minor blade care as opposed to a 1095 blade.
There is a sheath in one of the pictures, but no mention in the description. Is it included? I ask only because other drops have had pictures of sheathes that were not included with purchase.

NotsurewhyibotherI imagine it is part of the standard package for the knife, just like the elaborate cardboard box with gift box with zippered case packaging for the titanium folders.

Passed on other deals because I knew that I had this one in the “pipe” and was truly looking forward to getting this knife! I know now how the donkey feels with the carrot dangling just out of reach! And then someone just throws the carrot away!
