Take it from Kim Ning, a man with more than 20 years’ experience in the knife industry, that a solid folder is essential in the field. That’s why he designed the Uprising, a rock-solid flipper made from premium materials. The blade on this folder is made from S35VN steel, which delivers impressive edge retention and is highly resistant to wear. It’s also available in two different styles—clip-point and modified tanto—depending on your needs. Deployment is a cinch thanks to the flipper tab. The handle, a full titanium frame lock, has aggressive curves that ergonomically support multiple grips. The tip-up titanium clip is colored to match the handle for symmetry.

Developed by Crucible Industries (one of the leading manufacturers of specialty steels for the cutlery industry) and Chris Reeve (arguably the most famous knifemaker in the world), S35VN is perhaps the most balanced blade steel ever created in terms of all-around performance. It’s made through a process of powdered metallurgy known as CPM, which results in near perfect consistency in the distribution of carbides. Compared to conventional melting practices, the CPM process produces a steel characterized by superior dimensional stability, grindability, and toughness.
