Why? The days of anything knife wise from China automatically being bad are LONG over. There are several companies in China that are restructuring the entire knife industry right now. They have simply put out a better product at a lower price and forced a correcting of the market in several places along price points.
SupesYou're absolutely right, people SHOULDN'T have a problem with that.
But MaskedHobo is right too, that many still do.
All you have to do is look in the comments of half the knife drops on this site to see that
It's sad and closed minded, but true 😒
ecolemanI'd like a sheath picture too, particularly to see what it would take to carry it horizontally centerline. The Blade HQ pic does show the attachment side, but it's likely some sort of standard vertical carry Kydex clip.
Great price but the question which springs to mind is: How is the package labeled? If there's a reasonable chance it will go through customs without extra fees I'll order it. Unfortunately, if it doesn't it will cost around $90 anyway.
Is that unique to knives? I've ordered a couple other items over $40 from massdrop (no knives as of yet) and I don't remember seeing customs charges...
Benslen15Oh, I my bad - I should've mentioned I live in Norway! It applies to everything except books for some reason. I completely understand they want us to buy domestic but often that's not an option, soooo I should stop it before it turns into a rant ;-)
pretty good price. Not sure why Kizer uses that rough textured looking dlc on their fixed blades but it is supposedly pretty durable from the kizer salient reviews i watched which has the same coating. I might just have to grab one of these also.
Dlc is indeed a coating also used for rust protection and does wear off just like any other coating albeit its more resistant to it. I own a few dlc coated knives that have worn spots on them from use and sharpening etc. however this is the first blade coating i have seen with a textured appearance and is used on Kizers fixed blades. Its possible the coating was listed inaccurately where i Read it although i did see that on more than one site. You are correct not all black coatings are dlc though. Theres also bp1, teflon, and im sure others . Im gonna dig around again online and see if i can fiNd out definitively as i would like to know since i already have the salient on the way and am probably gonna pick up the little river bowie as well. Honestly its not a huge deal as any coating will wear eventually and faster with hard use like in those youtube videos where they are batoning etc but it would be nice to know. I would prefer an oilled satin blade myself over a coating anyway but this is what comes on the knife.
CdoyleHere is the article about the kizer salient stating it is a dlc coated 1095 although I dont see major retail sites such as bhq advertising it so cant say for sure.

$64.99 on eBay with free shipping. 4 day delivery. It looks the same, but it could be a fake. 30 day return period. This seller has a 99.9% approval rate.
Not sure what’s wrong with mine I have no issues removing it from it’s sheath with one hand. Great design it’s a happy addition to all my other kizer blades
Received mine today, arrived before the ship date in the drop. Very happy about that.
Not having owned a fixed blade knife in a few years, I don't have much comparison. However, it feels good in the hand, heavier than expected, but balanced nicely. I have med-large hands, fits well.
Like JKreese mentioned, it definitely does not allow for one-handed removal.
Overall great first impression.
This is a great deal and huge savings! $91 on other stores and $82 on amazon prime. Having $32 to $41 dollars savings for a $50 dollar price is a great deal!
