As pleasant to look at as the constellation its named after, the Kizer Ursa Minor is designed by Ray Laconico, a knifemaker known for his functionally elegant designs. Armed with a 3.1-inch clip-point blade made from S35VN stainless steel, the Ursa Minor packs a major punch. The blade is smooth to deploy thanks to the ceramic bearing system and flipper tab. It’s housed inside a clean titanium handle with blue-anodized hardware for a bit of eye candy. Outfitted with a titanium frame lock, the knife provides secure lockup for hard use. The clip comes in a single position: right-handed tip-up. It sports the same soft, contoured lines as the handle for a cohesive look.

Developed by Crucible Industries (one of the leading manufacturers of specialty steels for the cutlery industry) and Chris Reeve (arguably the most famous knifemaker in the world), S35VN is perhaps the most balanced blade steel ever created in terms of all-around performance. It’s made through a process of powdered metallurgy (CPM), which results in near perfect consistency in the distribution of carbides. Compared to conventional melting practices, the CPM process produces a steel characterized by superior dimensional stability, grindability, and toughness.
