IKantEvenI own one, purchased on a drop earlier this year. It is a sheet of synthetic insulation somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 inch thick. I tested this out in a variety of temps this spring and was very cold most of the time. I found a website where Klymit called it 3-season, but I would say it is a 50-degree blanket at best.
Hataylor27I'm hanging out for the insulated ultralight version like the one in this pack. Its lighter and has a much higher R rating than the normal static v that has been on massdrop recently.
Indeed, 47$ ship plus 20$ tax to Switzerland and it's not such a great deal anymore... but massdrop is still interesting as a community to discove cool stuff. Thats what I use it for.
arober02You find many cool things on massdrop...too bad their shipping methods are too expensive... I mean if they are owned by amazon, why not use the same shipping services like amazon? or ship it with amazon...
themaskeduserA big part of the customs bill is the handling charge by the courier to collect the tax. Also a lot if the times the shipping company gets it wrong and charges tax on the whole order value (with shipping) when they should just be charging for the value if the items only.
This can be avoided if you the seller collects the import duties and sends it directly to the destination countries customs. I bought s watch from jomashop and they offered that option and the total outlay was a lot less than if I had to pay on delivery
klymit is pretty good stuff at a good price...it’s not the lightest, or high-end but it works.
I own the air mattress and it’s great for the family/car camping,I’ll even bring it backpacking, I’ve had a for a few years now and I have nothing but pro’s to say about it.
The pillows on the other hand I felt was very uncomfortable, didn’t hold air and I returned them.
The quilt as well I returned after a season of camping which was once every few months. I mainly used the quilt as a pillow, it did an ok job but for the money and user ness I got the down quilt drop is selling.
Also a tip: Costco sells a lot of klymit stuff, you’re almost better off buying it from Costco due to their return policy
