A word, since I have some already. No, the are not all that bright. And while you can hold the bulb to screw them in you must hold their base to remove them as they will separate. They are specialty lighting and at its least expense end. I use them in conjunction with other lighting and am satisfied with their cost and efficiency.
does the bulbs work with a dimmer light system?
Hampoon
According to the Amazon listing, it has a "feature" of "dimmable" but the remote control has brightness up and down buttons. I would assume it would not work in a standard incandescent bulb dimmer switch depending on the age of the switch. An LED's brightness is adjusted by pulse width modulation, not by increasing or decreasing current. That's not to say all light switch dimmers are the same, though.
The life of these bulbs is a decider for me. Big No!
DATE PURCHASED Dec 30, 2018 ESTIMATED SHIP DATE Jan 11, 2019 PT Jan 28th, still haven't received order or updates. Can't say I would recommend buying these
KCVortex
mine just started to ship. By started i mean that usps has a preshipping label created and are still waiting for the product... and still the only update ive been given in regards to this has been from you
is there any update on these? the estimated ship date was 5 days ago. was there some sort of delay? a bit of info on where the product is would be nice
HumanitLost
Only update that I got was a shipping label was created with USPS and USPS is still waiting for the items to be scanned. That was Jan 18th
When first applying power with no remote intervention, do these just cycle through the colors constantly?
30w? Dont y'all mean 3w? I think the highest power rating I've seen on an LED bulb is something like... 12w?
denali
It's a 30w incandescent equalivent, as many people still measure light intensity by the Watt. The Lumen is still slowly being adopted.
Ok did I read that right the life span is only 1100 hours?!? Can some one confirm that? Seems to only be 1/5 of a cheap led or only 1/10 of a Phillips. Hell I can leave my Phillips lights last for two years, left on for 24 hours per day... So this deal seems to be more pretty much on par with a Phillips Smart bulb....
Qst3
Yeah that does seem absurdly low. I have some of those LE ones in my porch lights they're on 24/7 in the cold and heat, still holding strong.
Or, you can save money and buy it on eBay "Brand New" for $19.58 with free shipping. 30 day return policy with free returns. https://www.ebay.com/p/Kobra-LED-Bulb-Color-Changing-Light-Bulb-With-Remote-Control-2-Pack16-Different/7024135792?iid=362442831823&chn=ps Great Deal Massdrop...Keep 'em comin'! My bad, I should have posted this link instead. https://www.amazon.com/KOBRA-Changing-Control-Different-Decoration/dp/B01IOM03G6?th=1 4 bulbs, two remotes (Yes, I know the drop has 4 remotes, big deal!), and free and fast shipping...$19.99. Where's the bargain trapezoid? I'll reiterate what I said earlier... Prediction: If Massdrop doesn't get their act together there WILL be a Massdrop in membership.
(Edited)
Because I posted the wrong link, I'm "freaking out"?
Drop price is meh, the 3 week ship date is not great for a $5 savings. Amazon $24.99 http://a.co/d/4S6AXau Read the reviews... these seems to be super dim and only good as mood lighting, also they do come with a few remotes, however they say you can use one remote for multiple lights you just have to point the remote at it. I mean it might be a better option to get it from Amazon, pay the extra $5 just to get it in a few days with the ability to return them if they are garbage... all sales are final on Massdrop.
HappyNem
Wait for 3 weeks to save $5...where do I sign! :S
Vital
They will even throw in NO ability to return it if the product is garbage!
I live in Thailand, will these bulbs work with 220 vac 50Hz?
A comment on Amazon: A: There are no information on the package or the item description, but I'm definitely sure it's less than 200 Lumens. It's very weak and only suitable for a nightstand.”
. Usually, a 5.5-watt LED bulb (3000k, 450 lumens, non-daylight) has the equivalent brightness of a 40-watt HID bulb. Why does this LED bulb consume so much power at 30 watts ? .
Grnmo
I'm sure they're comparing it's light output by the Watt like old incandescent bulbs as many people still measure it that way. The Lumen is still being adopted.
As what was asked below, can these remember the previous color setting after power have been removed??? With other types of LEDs I have that use that type of remote (I am assuming RF control?) they will remember their last state if you use the remote to shut it down, but some of my other fixtures will remember if you power cycle as well... Not remembering is an issue I have with some wifi and bluetooth controlled bulbs...
roissy
I can't speak about these ones, but I have the LE one from Amazon ($7), that uses the remote and it'll keep the color setting when turning off the bulb. Also a nice thing is if you turn the bulb off by the remote, you can turn it back on by turning the switch off then back on, so if you lose the remote or just forget, you don't think the bulb is bad.
30W is bad for LED and having 4 remote controllers for 4 bulbs seems like a nightmare.

Yea, but it's 30W and only 320 lumens, I've bought 10W LED bulbs that do just over 1000 lumens, it's kinda baffling how it can consume 30W.
ramblingenzyme
They're measuring 30w incandescent equalivent light output, as the Lumen is still not adopted by everyone. So for those who don't really know, this bulb is slightly dimmer than a 40w incandescent bulb or half that of a typical 60w room lamp bulb from the 90s.
I have tried color changing bulbs for holiday lighting but they did not "remember" the color setting once the power was removed. Each time the light goes on you have to manually set the color. Can these remember the previous color setting from night to night?
30 watts for an led bulb these are super inefficient.
