This is Parker-style G2, not Pilot which is what most people think of when hearing "G2". Because why not use the same designation for two vastly different refills ...
If it were a clicky mechanism, that would be bad, because those cuts are essential, but with this pen the hack might actually be doable. You'd need of course cut the refill and the spring too (otherwise it compresses too much. I personally wouldn't do it)
They list the refill as a Schmidt 9000 which is actually a very very good refill IMO. Writes to the lightest touch, doesn't leak ... the same reasons I love the EnerGel.
Here they are side by side:
Got my pen today, Energel is definitely not an option.
On a side note : might be imagining things, but I've put a Schmidt 9000 refill in the pen and it feels smoother and requires much less pressure than the one included with the pen.
When I read that the refill was German made and Parker compatible, I just assumed it was a rebranded Schmidt. Which still could be the case, but maybe it was sitting in storage too much or is a lower tier version. At any rate : the pen is awesome with the 9000 cartridge.
I love that there's a "color options" section even though there's only one color. Henry Ford would approve: "You can have any color pen you want, as long as it's black."
