In short - I would probably stay away from this monitor.
I recently purchased the 29UC88-B which is also 75Hz - 29-Inch - IPS - 2560x1080 Ultrawide - Freesync. The panel that they use is probably the same in both monitors. Side-by-side they physically look identical. I'm not happy with mine at all. I'm coming from a nothing-fancy 22 inch 60Hz 1080p monitor. I know that a 15Hz difference isn't much, but I was expecting some type of noticeable improvement. I played some high action FPS games and was not impressed at all. The image didn't "feel" any "faster". It actually felt like crap. There was noticeable response lag. A friend of mine who has a nice 144Hz monitor also felt this way when I let him try it out. I ran some simple tests (http://www.testufo.com/#test=frameskipping) to find out that this thing skips frames like crazy!
I have no idea which model came first or what the exact differences are, so take all of this with a grain of salt. Maybe this model is nothing like the one I bought . . . Maybe it is.
Meh . . . The "importance" of response time is over emphasized anyway. I'd be extremely surprised if anyone can actually tell the different between 1ms and 4ms.
Djghost113321:9 monitors at 3440x1440 under 34" don't exist, and 24" 16:9 monitors at 1440p are still very expensive, so I doubt manufacturers will be making 29" 21:9's at 1440p any time soon, if at all.
I had the same reservations before buying coming from a 24" at 1920x1200, but it's a very similar pixel density to a 16:9 1920x1080 at 24" and a great entry into 21:9 for the price.
What you don't want is a 2560x1080 at 34"
old unimpressive monitor only reason to buy would be if it was cheap. I wouldn't call this drop cheap.
This was on buydig months ago for $165 free shipping at that time I thought it was kind of worth it.
I just purchased two of these monitors and the computer desk that has a drop going on right now - the "Sit / Stand desk".
Really looking forward to having the ability to have different programs running in different areas of the monitors. This is going to be so fantastic, I can hardly stand it!
THANKS, MASSDROP!!!
