I'm just going to say this again: Don't be an idiot and buy this unless you've got so much disposable income you just burn cash for fun and insulation. Literally , this is $400 at least ABOVE what the MSRP for nearly identical monitors are. Don't be a fool!

m0arpheus"Nearly Identical" is the main thing here. You can't show me an IPS Ultrawide display that has 144hz and G-Sync with a price $400 less than this. Previous Ultrawide monitors like this were using VA panels to get over 100hz. If you don't care about these features then sure, you can get an Ultrawide monitor for $600 that looks great. It won't be as good for gaming as this monitor.

solBLACKHe's right, you can easily get 3440x1440 at this price, with equally good 100+Hz

solBLACKUmmm... LG UC79G-B - same thing for $700 on Newegg right now, scans g-sync (has freesync). Those $200+ are better spent on upgrading video card. Or just get $2.5k LG C7 OLED TV if money is not a problem.

Alexalder The only two displays out there that are close to this are the x34 and PG348Q, which both are 100hz with overclock. Both have been notorious for not hitting the full 100hz and have terrible backlight bleed.

m0arpheusYou already proved that you don't understand what specs are on these products. That monitor doesn't have G-Sync. The spec list doesn't list hz so I'd guess it to only be 60hz. It's not even close to the same monitor. The one you're posting is more for content creation. This monitor is specifically created/marketed for gaming.

Shinigami84And that is why I hate the monitor market right now. If you have an Nvidia card and want to take advantage of the technology you need a G-sync monitor. I'm waiting for AMD to come out with a card that can drive a monitor like LGs UC79G-B at 144hz so I can switch to them. It's BS that Nvidia can hike up a monitor price just because of G-sync.

solBLACKI've had it with your shill-itude bruh, YOU don't know what you're talking about. G-Sync and Freesync have , at absolute worst , a 1ms refresh and polling difference and I've played on both types of monitors and you can even go find the comparisons of freesync and G-Sync on YouTube and they're barely different. You're touting a monitor that has a resolution that was established in 2005, a sticker price for a monitor from that time and an unoriginal, overpriced synchronization technique that still will allow screen tearing I guarantee you.....who are you and who do you work for? Because you're not helping anyone on this thread. Before you start telling others they don't know shit, come correct.

m0arpheusYou're linking a monitor that has 84hz less refresh rate than the monitor here. That isn't comparable if you are looking at a gaming monitor. If you want to discuss the price point between Freesync and G-sync then you won't find an argument there. It's a total shame that Nvidia charges such a premium when it's only a little better at best. If you wanted to argue something you should have linked LGs UC79G-B like Shinigami84 did as that's actually a better comparison.
So explain to me how you're helping consumers by misleading them?

solBLACKThey always hit the 100hz, the problem was only with a few units of the first run. I have one myself. Also the backlight bleed is not even noticeable, it has a bit of IPS glow if we were to nitpick

AlexalderIf they fixed the 100hz problem then that's awesome. I was checking OCN for months after those two released and was seeing more negative than positive comments.

solBLACKI mean, it has a 4.5/5 on amazon, if you are so unlucky to get the faulty model just send it back

m0arpheusIt's not about the comparison between G-Sync and Freesync. No one here is saying G-Sync is better. G-Sync is more expensive because nvidia. G-sync requires a proprietary G-sync module provided by Nvidia to be installed into the monitor. Freesync on the other hand just uses the DisplayPort 1.2a specification and a scalar made by the manufacturer that is capable of switching refresh rate on the fly. G-Sync is for Nvidia card, Freesync AMD cards. I think you have missed the point.
