Did this deal drop or what happened ?
Hello Everyone, Due to many of you discussing the capabilities of this monitor being able to run at 75hz or not we are going to temporarily take down this drop. I want to make sure the massdrop community is getting what they are paying for. I have reached out to LG but want to get everything straight before relisting it.

Is this price of $689.99 in CAD or USD. It tells me the shipping cost to ship to Canada, so it knows I am in Canada. I'm wondering because after converting to CAD this is still more expensive than just buying them off of NCIX. But it says they are 25% off. But if the price is in CAD it makes sense.

I don't undertand why the shipping costs 134 dollars, for shipping to Denmark, or many other european countries. And its even without tax. Any reason for that?

donnymarrionYou will not get 75hz. The 75hz is a mistake on the product pages. This monitor only goes up to 60hz regardless of whether you use freesync.

Anyone know if LG has anything planned in the 144Hz range? The choice of just Acer right now is a shame when the guys that invented this format are stuck at 60Hz.

boombeefDon't listen to the other guy below you, there are 144hz ultrawides, just 2560x1080, none at 3440x1440. I'd prefer 144@1080 because it'd allow me to consistently hit the 144fps without killing my gpu or having to go on low settings. 144hz@1440 are planned to come out later this year considering nvidia's new line of gpus support DP 1.4. http://www.techpowerup.com/219588/samsung-readies-144-hz-3440-x-1440-ultra-wide-monitors http://www.kitguru.net/peripherals/monitors/matthew-wilson/auo-to-release-two-ultra-wide-3440x1440-144hz-monitors-this-year/ (sounds like they're gonna use the same exact panels as the samsung ones in the above article)
And here are some 144hz ultrawides for you: BenQ XR3501: http://www.amazon.com/BenQ-XR3501-35-inch-Curved-Monitor/dp/B01047I0X2 Acer Z35: http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-Z35-35-inch-speakers/dp/B01A0FEBXQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1463289436&sr=1-1&keywords=z35 AOC C3583FQ: http://aoc-europe.com/en/products/c3583fq%252Fbs

swirle13Yeah thanks for those links. I have been watching my local Fry's for that Acer Z35 Freesync version (XZ350CU). My 290x can't handle 144 fps @ 3440x1440. Will wait to upgrade video maybe one more generation until HBM gets sorted out.

Newegg has the 34UM94-P for $601-$10 coupon code shipped (+ tax if applicable) until 15May. Given the one on MD is confirmed to be 60hz, these two appear practically identical except the 34UM94-P has Thunderbolt ports (and speakers) and the 34UM88C-P has Freesync. Am I missing anything else?
I'm not a serious FPS gamer, but I do have an R9 390 (with Freesync I think?). I imagine Freesync on the LG not worth the extra $100 or so, especially considering the loss of Thunderbolt. Would you up-to-date techies agree?
Edit: Per the description "...Freesync technology, it eliminates tearing and stuttering that occurs when the frame rate of the graphics card is different from the refresh rate of the monitor." Isn't it easy to manually set the refresh rate in software if needed? If so there is very little value in Freesync and the 34UM94-P is a much better deal, no?
Edit2: Sorry, per AMD's website, it appears Freesync is more sophisticated than just matching refresh rates. Still I don't think it has a whole lot of value for people like me who are not serious FPS gamers. (Sorry for all the edits -- I'm not so up-to-date on these things.) http://www.amd.com/en-us/innovations/software-technologies/technologies-gaming/freesync

Thanks @primitivetype for backing me up and helping inform the masses. On a positive note, I've found the curvy version of this monitor, 34uc88-b, goes up to 75Hz and LG isn't even aware of it. No refresh rate listed on the product page and the manual is almost identical to thus monitor and says 60hz recommended.... Anywho, caveat emptor.
Also, microcenter has these monitors in stock and only a little more $$. I grabbed this monitor like 4 days ago and already upgraded to the curved version. Massdrop tends to take forever...

primitivetypeI assume you are referring to this line (under Tech Specs > Special features): FreeSync Yes (DP 48~75Hz)
That is the only allusion to the fact that the monitor is 75Hz, everywhere else it claims 60Hz, if it can even be called 'claiming'. LG will also tell you its only 60Hz. BUT IT FREAKIN AINT. Also, it supports 75Hz without freesync enabled as well.
